he's probably right. I don't see how Ortiz has was it takes to share the ring with fighters like Pac or Floyd. for me Pac knocks out Ortiz in the early rounds, Floyd in the late rounds. JMM has the style to trouble Pac and even if PBF schooled him he still had to be on his toes even in the final rounds.

He was pushing Marquez around and trying to knock him out in the final rounds. I'm not sure what you mean by he had to be on his toes. Anyway, we'll see very shortly if Ortiz belongs in the ring with Mayweather.

I think he tried to knock him out for a while in the 10th but quickly gave up on that.

If you rewatch the final rounds, Marquez still looks fresh and is trying to take the fight to Floyd, though he is very unsuccessful due to Floyd's defense and countering.

Anyways the bottom line is that JMM > Ortiz.

Both are going to be cake walks...or at least they should be. Neither JMM or Ortiz are the men to beat the two best boxers in the world. No upsets happening in these two fights. One will be a schooling...the other will be a massacre. I look forward to both.

Agree with Teddy here. Never thought I'd say that.

I'm not sleeping on Ortiz. He's not just a slow, plodder. He's got hand speed and foot speed. He fights balanced and is technically sound. He's really improved his game of late just like Khan. Of course i heavily favor Floyd but given Floyd's age, you never know what the fight might look like if Floyd has lost a noticeable amount of his reflexes. If this is the Floyd that fought Shane, yeah, it's a clinic. But if he's lost something, it could get interesting.

Stays balanced most of the time and has his feet under him, keeps his hands up, uses the jab to set punches up. Just basic things you would expect, he does.

This is the same Victor Ortiz who got outboxed by Lamont Peterson and somehow managed to only get a draw after scoring 2 knockdowns. I give him credit for showing guts against Berto (who I've never been convinced by) - I even had money on Ortiz - but lets not kid ourselves that he's suddenly a better fighter after one decent win.

I actually think Ortiz is much more of a live dog. JMM fought even with a much more limited Pacman and when JMM was much fresher. So how can he win now? Will JMM have moments? Of course, his style troubles Pac. But will he win? No chance in hell IMO.

Mayweather was really pushing for the KO in round 11 and the first half or round 12. It really wasn't until the last half of the final round that he gave up on it and put it in cruise control.

 I know it's gonna kill you when i say this but Peterson is another guy who has improved tremendously since his loss to Bradley. Peterson will do some good things, watch.

But Ortiz is a young, hungry lion! Or a hungry young lion! Or a starving adolescent tiger!
