I think I agree. It all depends on how Marquez comes in though. We can't assume he'll be in horrible physical condition for the biggest fight of his life, after learning his lesson.

  2. atlas has it all wrong. ortiz could very well ko mayweather and i dont see how pacquiao wont destroy marquez. strangely enough, im rooting for mayweather and marquez.

People including analysis like Atlas always confuse intelligence with skill and athleticism. If Mayweather were really all that intelligent he wouldn't have to box anymore. If you want a clear example just look at what "Boom Boom" did with his earnings.

I go back in forth with this JMM fight.

i know how good JMM is/was...but Pac today is now clearly the better fighter i dont care what style he has......Pac is stronger now, at his best weight and speed wise he hasn't lost much.

Flip side JMM has lost a bigger step in all aspeccts and is older....if he had his earlier youth yes i would say this is a tough one....but its like people say....a fighter can know how to win but not have the tools to do so....i think thats the case with JMM....he will know how to get the job done and at times will show it....but for 12 rounds i dont think he will be able to keep up or execute at this weight and and age.

Thanks Teddy. I now change my picks to Pacquiao in 45 seconds and Ortiz by UD.

Teddy's predictions on Pac fights were always wrong and besides JMM can't fight on his walk around weight while Ortiz is too green so both would have an easy fight.

As he should'nt. A welterweight PED user should'nt get any credit for beating a 38 year old lightweight.

if you meant a-side meth then it's legal.

OSDT should be year round. making USADA test for only a few months makes them irrelevant.

Again, you keep assuming that Peterson is some bum. He isn't. He has improved noticeablye since his loss to Bradley. And Ortiz had 9 lbs on him in the ring.

I don't think Peterson is a bum but fighting him (and getting outboxed for long stretches) and then stepping up to Floyd is to big a jump in such a short time.

The fact that Ortiz had 9 lbs on him should have been an advantage to Ortiz but it wasn't as Peterson made him look bad by outboxing him. Size is the only advantage Ortiz has over Floyd as well and if he couldn't use that size advantage before what makes him able to do it now (and at a higher weight class)? I see Ortiz getting thouroughly outboxed against Floyd and I can't see him being able to use his size advantage (if he even has one on fight night).

As I said earlier, I like Peterson as a fighter, I think he has very good technique. However, to say that Floyd is a step up from Peterson isn't an insult to Peterson, it's just that Floyd is that bit better - there are few fighters that are active who you can compare favourably to him. At 140, Peterson is a live opponent against any of the beltholders and would give a good fight against any of them.

Everything you said makes sense. And i also heavily favor Floyd but i also think that there is an element of surprise and that's Floyd's age. He's right about the age when most start to lose a noticeable amount of natural talent.

Also, styles make fights. No two styles are exactly the same. Lastly, there is also the possibility of IMPROVEMENT. I just think Ortiz is a guy on the rise who continues to improve just like Khan and Peterson. So with one guys arrow pointing up and one guys pointing down, i think there are factors that might make this fight more interesting than most think.
