He had nothing to do with Tyson's success. He lied about TYson and girl, and he made hiscarreer off his claims of being Tyson's first trainer, plus leaking stories to reporters back in 1980's, about Tyson, and others in boxing. He's phoney, and sucked as trainer. Who has he trained? Who DOES he train? No one.

He uses excuse that he turns down fighters cause of: 'Character flaws they have" and "Other obligations." Right, he can't leave FNF ? And EVERYONE but him has a characteor flaw. :patsch

He claims in book he sacard inmates in prison, took on guys twice his size and had them back down--but he needed gun for Tyson. Piece of ****, big time.

Damn a lot of people hate Teddy.
Personally I've always liked him. People said he never did anything with his fighters. He led and undersized/bloated Michael Moore to a heavyweight title. Moore never really did a whole lot after Teddy. I thought he was a pretty decent boxer under Teddy's wing. Also improved Donnie LaLonde's game a lot. Molded him into a decent boxer as well.
Teddy is a no bull**** kinda guy and sometimes lets his pride and machoism get the best of him. Honestly, if Tyson would have sexually harrassed my little cousin I would have prolly put a gun to his head as well. He didn't want to fight him....he wanted to scare the living **** out of him.

Titty AtlASS hated Tyson, was unfair. He also ruined Michael Grant, Muriqui, etc. He is extremely conceited and he is psychic in reverse as far as boxing goes.

That sums up what I think about Atlas. :yep

He's boring, negative, and repetitive. He doesn't score fights accurately because he's too biased, and he has a terrible track record for an "expert" at predicting fights.

We should all make a "silent agreement" not to talk badly about Teddy Atlas

Hold on: he did WHAT with Donny La Londe??????? La Londe was better before and after his short time with Atlas, wtf are you talking about?

Moorer was also. This "Teddy is a no bull**** guy" and "Teddy tells it like it is.." The guy is total opposite of that.

Your first sentance is wrong--a guy named Bobby Stewert bought Tyson around. Your second statement is wrong. Cus was old, but no where close to senile, even years later before his death.

YOur third claim is wrong---Atlas was one out of control, and Cus covered for him many times. It was cus who saved Atlas from jail, which is how they hooked up.

If you had any idea of what you were talking abou...well, forget it, cause you don't. Where did you get this misinformation from?

be reasonable man, tyson was 13 or 14. as ****ed as he might have been, you don't point a gun at a kid at that age. slap him, scold him, talk to him, but don't put a gun to his face and act all tough about it. Whats sad is that he mentions that in every ****ing interview when they ask him about tyson, he feels like he's such a big man for threatening to kill a kid.

I like in his book how he saved Briggs' ass in a street fight.

Teddy is one of the most articulate boxing presenters I've ever seen.

I would take his well formed and argued opinion - Wrong or not - Over 99.9% of the posters on this board.

He has forgotten more about boxing than most here will ever know combined.

Why do you think so? He sucked as trainer, was fired quickly by many suckered into hiring him...what makes you think he knows a lot? Because ESPN put him on?

He was suspended twice, once for abusing a crew member verbally (a technician) and this year for threatening (supposedly) one of ESPN's promoters. How is that a stand up person? He's out of control, and gets away with things cause he has people convinced he's 'Doing it for them" or for some good cause. He's gotne asway with things since way back, even before Cus D'Amato saved his ass from jail, and has gotten away since. There will come a time when he can't weasal way out.
