Teddy's one shining moment as a pro trainer came when he allegedly "willed" Moorer to victory over a sick (steroids?) Holyfield in the first fight. If people actually watch the fight in full, rather than an HBO Legendary Nights episode, they'll see that Moorer did little after Atlas begged him to fight with more passion. Lampley even said "Moorer's gonna get another scorching in the corner from Teddy Atlas". Notice how Moorer fought with more passion before and after he was with Atlas? Watch his LHW fights (Steward), the Cooper fight (Steward) and Holyfield rematch (Roach). Notice how Shannon Briggs mentally fell apart with Atlas in the corner, against Wilson? Then the one time Briggs shows a lot of heart, against Lewis, of course it wasn't Teddy in the corner. Teddy may be a good motivator among other athletes and people, but it hasn't shown when it comes to making professional boxers fight with more passion and desire.
When I say no bull**** I dont mean hes full of bs dude...i mean he doesnt take any ****. When I say he tells like it ease I dont mean that hes 100% honest...I mean if he believes in something else than you do he will tell you. He doesn't try to hide anything. I think you misunderstood what I meant.
What bothers me the most about Teddy is he degrades Cus(the man that taught him everything he knows about boxing) in his book even though everyone who knew cus only had good things to say about him.
Tell me about his "excellence" as a trainer. What great success did he have other than when he allegedly "willed" Moorer to victory? Bobby Stewart, a guard at a juvenile facility, is the one who took Tyson to meet Cus D'Amato. Atlas wasn't wrong for pulling a gun on Tyson, a 16 year old Tyson is still a trained boxer built like a tank. But what is really sad is how people watch an episode on Legendary Nights and suddenly think Atlas is some great trainer and motivator without actually watching things such as the fight in full, some of Moorer's efforts and the desire he showed pre and post Atlas, the (lack of) success of Atlas's fighters.
Atlas did what i would have done if i found some ******* tried to sexually someone in my family:deal Tyson obviously didn't learn anything from it, that's why the dumbass spent 4 years in the joint, Tyson is the POS not Atlas..
I personally like Atlas, other than Bernstein, his knowledge of boxing is tops in commentating and analysis, he really breaks down the fights and what the fighters have to do to try to win the fight. Atlas is not perfect, but he seems like a guy that dont take **** and stands up for what he believes in, which seems to be his fighters. If Atlas was such a bad trainer, why was Briggs practically begging Teddy to train him again a couple years back on FSN? Teddy told him he needs to lose weight and then will talk, Briggs didnt listen so they never got back together. Moorer has nothing bad to say about Teddy, and praises him every chance he gets, Teddy ditched him because he wouldnt stay in the gym and train the way Teddy wanted, same with thing with Briggs, as trainer whats the sense of staying with these guys if they wont listen and do what you say in the gym?
Gotta love how this moron keeps picking against Klitschko in EVERY fight. I guess idiots like him never learn. He also sounds kinda punch drunk.....
