Yup.....at the end of the day we can make Floyd be confident in beating PAC in the ring...he's got to feel that for this fight to be reality, if not, Floyd wont' answer the call. I'm not stupid and I don't think this fight is easy for either guy, but if I had to place a wager on one guy, I think the most logical bet would be in favor of PAC.....Stylistically both have qualities that are gonna be problems for either of them, but it all comes down to the mental aspect since these two guys are so evenly matched. Before I actually thought Floyd would edge PAC when this fight was first announced. My...how things change in a year.
Bert Sugar was caught up in emotion after the Cotto fight. Once he calmed down he said Pac was top 50. He said that a couple of days before the Clottey fight. Pac isn't a top 20 atg. I don't know who I was debating but he said Pac was a top 10 atg. Stating he is ranked higher than Ray Leonard, and Henry Armstrong. What a tool.
Atlas makes good points, Pac wouldnt hang with Leonard, that is undisputable IMO (pacfuc opinions aside)
the only reason this guy has a life inside of boxing is because he was a towel boy for cus d that is IT!
Even people who put on a show are exposed now and then. I don't think I've ever read an article, interview or seen footage of Pacquiao being anything but likeable in boxing and his political career.
Nothing wrong with Atlas's comments, IMO. He acknowledged Pac's talent, but, was honest about where Pac's achievements place Pac on HIS list...and it's not in the top 25. I don't see how it's hating...just his opinion, and a sensible one, in this case. He clearly explained his position.
I"m a huge Tyson fan but ATG status are being given to too many boxers. Tyson fought a lot of cans and when he faced current elites he didn't do well (Holyfield, Lewis). Losing to Douglas didn't help matters any. Yes, it has a lot to do with whom he associated with but he lost focus at a time when he could have cemented his legacy as an ATG.
I don't think he slammed Pac at all. He even said he ranks higher than the other P4P number 1 guy in the game currently. It's just that he looks at the current generation and thinks they are crap compared to the past generations of fighters.
