I think Atlas actually picked both guys on different occassions.

De La Hoya should pay Atlas a lot of money to publically pick Mayweather and say DLH has no chance.

Floyd tried to corner Arum into a guarantee contract deal to fight Cotto and hatton for 10 mill a piece before he would agree to fight margarito and that floyd would demand to be entitled to that fight and the money even if he lost the fight to margarito. :huh

when has this happened and with what fighter !?! in the case of Floyd Vs Baldi Goosen made the offer so it was up to him to ether agree to floyd terms of payment not the other way around .. He did the same thing with Margarito, did goosen get a peace of margarito purse for future fights for fighting williams ?? NO he didn't ..

I never said Floyd would demand the 10 mil to fight cotto and hatton if he lost to Margarito that would be stupid ..

I stated, Arum did not want to take the chance if Margarito lost to floyd that he would be bound to pay floyd 10 mil for both cotto and Hatto and he would have to been bound to make those fights happen , but he was not about to put his 20 million dollar eggs into a basket called margartio .

Just like Arum didn't put much faith in margarito defending his title against William which is why he wanted margarito the drop his WBO strap and fight Cotto rather then make his mandatory against williams.
But Margarito started to believe in the hype that Arum built and thought he could use his new found hype powers to squeeze arum for more money to fight cotto over william, but Arum didn't bite , margarito agreed to fight william for 1.5 mil , and arum did every thing he could to salvage his hype , by threatening Margarito and Goosen with law suite if margarito fought williams.

doesn't sound like floyd was weaseling out to me , it sounds more like Arum wasn't 100% convince margatio could beat floyd , and wasn't willing to wager future fights on it.

If Arum was a 100% certain Margarito could beat floyd , he would have guarantee the matches for cotto and hatton for 10 mill a peace, but only if floyd beat Margarito ,, which make more since then your theory ..
