Cotto won, like it or not!!! Btw, please refer to post#35 above yours.... IF I was a big invincible mo'fo who could fly I'd be SUPERMAN, BUT guess what? I'm nottttttttttt!!! Bring on your reply!! plzzzzz
You can't read ****. Cotto shook his head during many of CLottey's flurries. Not only did he survive, but he welcomed Clottey to try and take it to him. Watch the last 3 rounds of the CLottey fight again. And when Cotto got hit, he shook his head the same way Clottey did when Cotto threw a barrage of punches. You can't read **** and know nothing. The only fighter I can think of that truly breaks down during a fight is Kermit Cintron. God FOrbid a fight goes past 6 rounds and this guy flips out. He retreats, clinches, gun shy...he just breaks down. He usually comes very strong in the beginning and then just cracks down the stretch. Cotto has been viewed through most of his career as someone who ate punches and marched forward and broke opponents down. But now that he fights much smarter and boxes a bit more, he's all of a sudden someone who retreats and fights scared. This is a sorry ass myth and one only a side-observer and non-participant can make.
Oh dear.atsch Don't you realize that usually when a fighter shakes his head or smiles when he takes a shot it usually means it did hurt him.... which both Cotto and Clottey did in that fight.... you don't have to be an expert in body language to know that you know? As soon as Cotto started fighting at elite level.... it's then that he got a bit of a reputation as someone who don't respond well to taking punches.... that's not by chance either. I mean how many times was he put down before he even moved up to welter? You are obviously what they call a Cotto 'nuthugger' around these parts... so you will more than likely dismiss all my valid points anyway but bare in mind I actually like watching Cotto fight.
Yes I read your 'if' post before I even wrote mine. What is your point though? I'm not sticking up for Clottey or making excuses for him but the only difference between him and Margarito was that Margarito 'did' cut the ring down when fighting Cotto and looked what happened.... By the way I have nothing against fighters who stick and move but there is a difference between that and 'running'... which is what Cotto does when he has a game, world class fighter infront of him who can take his punches back in the later rounds. Ask Mosley, Clottey and Margarito.... I don't really remember him countering them late on when he was moving away from them constantly do you?
It's okay . . . if it's Atlas talking . . . take it as a compliment. This guy has humilated himself repeatedly by his own words, so his talks doesn't count anymore.
i dont think teddy was questioning cottos heart nobody can question the heart of a guy who took 11 rounds of loaded gloves. i think teddy was questioning what cotto has left mentaly and phisicaly which is something that makes scence to question considering his list of fights with margarito, mosley, judah and torres. in the clotty fight it seemed like there was chances for cotto to step on the gas but he didnt, i know he had a really bad cut but when he knocked out zab judah he did it with his lip almost pierced in two. still i hope cotto beats manny the guy deserves to win.
I still like Atlas, he's always making good analagies involving tasty snacks and meals. He did predict Samuel Peter to KO Maskaev too....:hey
That's also what I think he was saying about Cotto too but I still don't think Cotto has the heart or stamina that the other elite level guys have.... although he still probably has more than most men though.
Well I don't take it personally against him . . . it's just that he makes himself look and sound like a clown frequently than him sounding logically. So credibility wise he has lost it. But for entertainment value . . . he is still acceptable.
Watch out guys this guy invented boxing and means business. Please tell us more(using your ass) about who counts and doesn't in the sport. :thumbsup
Awh Crapatsch Pac fans you'd better break this guys jaw before he out and out picks your man to win. But on a serious note I made the exact same analysis of Cotto on the night of that fight. Maybe it was because I was looking for that type of reaction but when I watch the fight now I don't see that at all. Still I often find my first impressions of a fight are always the best so I'm sticking by my conclusion that Cotto was fight ghosts in that fight. What I also saw though was that Cotto isn't physically drained the way I might have expected him to have been. He still looks relatively as asharp a fighter as he was before the margo fight. Pacquiao is not a giant WW that rehydrates up 165 or something crazy like that. Thats what Cotto is most afriad of. A guy that he can't boom out of the ring because his modese operrandi when he's in trouble is to sit in the pocket and boom away with the other guy until his offense breaks the other man in front of him. He certainly won't be worried about hitting Pac and relizing that nothing affects him in this fight so I don't think that he'll be as mentally wierry as he was in the Clottey figh. Add to that the fact that he is probably not as physically damaged as some might htinik and I'd have to giv him a prtty good chance.
its ****ed up the way cotto is being pretty much worn to shreds by bob arum fight after fight war after war corley, torres, judah, mosley, margarito and clotty each of these fights cotto could have lost but he found a way to win the fight with margarito he could have won but loaded gloves stoped him. now bob arum is hoping to cash cotto out by tossing him to the lion that is manny pacquiao. i hope cotto will not become just another sad story in boxing, he fights who ever is put infront of him and that is being taken advantage of by arum. hope cotto wins.
scar . . . scar . . . scar . . . post something logical. You are trying to get back at me for owning your ass in two different threads and it's making you look like a clown . . . just like atlas. Boxing is not just Floyd. :deal http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4685888&postcount=108 :hi:
