    Cotto v. Pac

"It’s not the fight it would have been a couple of years ago or even a year ago. I think it could have been an interesting fight and maybe it still will be, I have no final say on it, it’s just my opinion. I just don’t think it will be the interesting fight that we want it to be or potentially on paper what it is supposed to be; a small Pacquiao fighting a bigger stronger Cotto whose primary asset is going to the body against the quicker fleeter footed small guy and wear him down. I don’t know that Cotto will be able to do that and that was one of the interesting things, big speed advantage versus a super quick fighter with a come ahead style and wear him down. That’s the interested part but it will not play out because Cotto is damaged goods. I know that some of these psychopaths are going to say, Teddy is off his rocker. I am not saying that Cotto doesn’t have heart, I’m not saying that he is not a warrior, he’s got all the heart in the world. I think he showed us he is damaged in the Clottey fight. I think that he was torn apart and ready to be taken, ready to spit the bit, and again to those psychopaths out there, save your words, I don’t listen to them and I don’t want to hear them. You have your opinion and I have mine and mine is based on being in this business my whole life. Yes Cotto is a warrior but fighters are humans first and fighters second. They are human, they have their frailties, their weak times, and they suffer from depression just like all humans do at times. Cotto was affected by the Margarito fight, his confidence was shaken, shaken to the CORE! He had doubts and those doubts were showing against Clottey and he wasn’t sure if he could handle it. Yes he won the fight but he was on the cuff, on the brink of being pushed over the cliff. In a weird way Clottey saved him because he did not act like a fighter should, he did not seize the moment, he didn’t push Cotto off the cliff, and he let him survive."

Totally agree with Teddy's comment. Its a terrible thing to watch when a fighter suffers the type of defeat he did against Margarito. Its so rare that a fighter can come back. Fighters that have done so are in a very rare category and there is a reason for that exclusivity.

Its hard to come back from feeling invincible to have been beaten and your confidence taken from you.

i agree with the clottey ****, he could have won the fight but didnt attack enough, if i remember correctly i had cotto up by 2 points.
i still think cotto can beat alot of the other top fighters but he will never be pre-margo cotto again.

The Pacquiao of Saturday night beats Cotto at any stage of his career, the same way.

    Atlas is a drama queen.

I dont think he's anywhere near as done as people are making out. He fought 3 quarters of the Clottey fight with one eye against a tough ******* who's hard to look good against.

And despite the beating the other day I thought he had some very good moments. It remains to be seen what this fight has done to him but he can still make waves at 147 imo.

The marg fight made cotto better. If the same Cotto came in that faught Marg that faced PAC this weekend......Man! Cotto would have been taken out earlier b/c of his CONFIDENCE! He would have been more open, less intelligent and got caught ealier. He made it to 12 b/c his loss to Marg caused him to switch up his style to be more intelligent.

I don't agree that it wasn't an interesting fight, I really thought it was a war for the first half of the fight. Even when Cotto was fighting defensive, he was still landing some bombs; more than most fighters could have done in that kind of condition.

I agree that Cotto wasn't quite the fighter he once was, but he wasn't that much below par. Joshua Clottey is a very big WW and gives everyone hard time.

This begs the question, if Cotto didn't lose the Margarito fight and take a beating, would Team Pacquiao have made the fight with him? I remeber everyone thinking Cotto was practically unbeatable before the Margarito fight.

he's done he lost it mentally, and yes it was the magarito that did it. He hit magarito whit all he had and he just just keep coming.and he lost his will to fight.

Atlas might be right or he might not be, its likely somewhere in between but I dont want to get into it because it yet again takes away Pacquiao`s victory, albeit in a small way & that isnt right after a wonderful show by both men, especially the winner.

Atlas is right in picking the winner, just like my 12 year old nephew.

Problem is Atlas analysis is psychopathic
