the only amazing performance he's had of late is against margarito, before that he hasn't looked that great for a few years, but people forgot that once he beat margarito.
:deal It is only a possibilty but PEDs seem to be everywhere in the US boxing scene. Too many so called ATGs - Mosley, Toney, Holyfield and RJJ caught up in that ****.
What in the hell. Watching FNF just now and Atlas brings up the topic of maybe the reason Mosley didn't do well in the Mayweather fight after looking really good his last few fights was because of not being able to use performance enhancing drugs due to the Olympic style testing. WOW. Really Teddy??? Mosley has always been one of my favorite boxers & following the whole episode back when he admitted to using steroids it seemed like a one time sorta situation in his career. Now years later its mentioned by Atlas like Mosley was the Rickey Williams of boxing & downplays his entire career accomplishments basically. I'm really getting sick of all these commentators making these negative comments about boxers/boxing all the time & trying to lessen accomplishments by boxers or the sport in general. Why these people are even employed in a talking capacity to bring boxing to the masses is beyond me. If I'm the boss and these idiots use the term "another black eye for boxing" or continual mention whats wrong with the sport I'm fining then. Keep doing it & you're trying to get a job commentating on the Pro Bowling League cuz you just got canned. Not just for further making the sport seem like a lost cause, but just for bad journalism with using silly cliches & treating a bad situation in the sport like its part of some curse instead of an independent event. If you want to do things beyond the scenes to disparage the sport or make improvements that I myself would admit should be made then go for it, but while your commenting on the fight put your "I love boxing" face on & make it fun for the fans.
...........This is the same Teddy Atlas that has picked against wlad 7 fights in a row !! Has agenda/Not as smart as he thinks he is......
How dare he imply that an admitted cheater, cheated more often than the one time he was caught! Is the man insane? What is wrong with him? Next he will imply the Margarito should be forced to fight without plaster wraps, or that Sam Peter should be forced to stop hitting people behind the head for safety reasons. What a jerk.
Your right about guys running down the sport and wrong about everything else. Teddy is not one of those guys. He never has been. He is very positive about todays game. If you think turning a blind eye to cheating in boxing is good for the sport your the one who is very wrong. Once a person is caught or admits to cheating in boxing they do not do deserve any protection from those who would choose to criticize them. The truth is all the fuss about performance enhancers is about one person only and you know who that is. You might as well mention his name in every post about PEDS.
He was already making more than that you imbecile. Floyd doesn't like working with Arum for many very real reasons and Arum's cheating ass probably would have rescinded the offer right after it was accepted.
Here is the problem with this assessment. Mosley did cheat, unknowingly or not, in 2003. Mosley was coming into this fight a 4 to 1 underdog. He is 38 years old, near 39. He had a 16 month layoff. And he was fighting the best pure boxer of his time. Seems to me he just lost to a better fighter. Much is made of Mosley being gassed in this fight. Ask yourself the question, how many 38 year olds actually can continue to fight after fighting at the top level for as long as Mosley as. The actually answer is 1, Bernard Hopkins. But Hopkins didn't have the amateur background of Mosley. So for me it is a lot easier to believe Shane just got old and got beat by a better fighter. Shane Mosley did leave himself open to this by associating himself with Conte in 2003. so he will have to live with these questions for the rest of his career. Mosley though to his credit has never failed a test, or had his name brought up in additional PED associations since and before 2003. Teddy Atlas needs to stop speaking out when he doesn't have a shread of evidence that Mosley was cheating his whole career, Mosley did cheat and 2003 and we know this. Atlas can speak his mind, but he should think before he speaks. It would be one thing if he has a smoking gun, but he has to realize he is not writing on a message board. He has a public forum. So he needs to at least have evidence that Mosley has been cheating since and before the 2003 incident. If something else comes out then then we should relook at Mosley. But right now Teddy should just shut up and keep it to himself.
Bash ESPN, they're the ones who let Teddy expound on his conspiracy theories. Everyone who knows boxing understands who Teddy is and what he does.
