I post this video up a lot just to show that Atlas is a bit full of **** and is a BULLY. If he doesn't have a gun to use, he'll make sure a lot of people are around to prevent anything from happening to him. He questions fighter's "heart/courage" yet how many Pro Fights has he had? And what does he do when confronted? This is an insult to push a Former World Champion, future HOF fighter, evolved version of George Foreman in front of the World like this because you know he will not stoop to your street thug level. I'm not ripping on the entire character of Teddy Atlas because maybe there are some good parts, but part of him is full of ****. I have even heard him talk in the 3rd person. WTF. Who are you?
George wasn't going to do anything at this stage of his career. Even though The Fifth Ward Texas George is still inside him, like the incredible Hulk was still within Bruce Banner, deep down; He spent years trying to rebuild himself spiritually to control the rage before he even stepped back on the big stage to the vast population. Teddy knew this. George wasn't going to erupt. Now if this was young George [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c29-5PqJuG4&hd=1[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WL7KnkWWXbQ[/ame]
how do you see wlad and vitali doing against a young foreman, i think the old one who came back 10 years later would still have KO'ed wlad
Eh. Tough to call. I would say there was three different versions of young George. George all the way up to the Title, where he focused a lot on throwing that thunderous Jab first then those devastating hooks. Then the one that came after Frazier who was all about his hooks and forgot to Jab because he was Mr. KO...which cost him against Ali. Then the one after Ali who lacked confidence. So which one? At his best, leading up to and for Frazier I assume since this is "Fantasy" ? Still tough to say. But if I had to say: I would favor Foreman over Wlad because I still don't think Wlad can take someone of the ilk/fighter like Foreman who is balls out and coming at you with bombs. The Jab alone would break Wlad and make him uncomfortable. And then follow that jab up with bombs, forget it: Wlad is getting knocked out. Vitali's negative is that his hands are low and pulls back to much. And although it works against a lot of fighters, mediocre fighters, we saw what happened to him against a guy like Lennox who was at the tail end of his career? Vitali vs. Foreman is a War.... because unlike Wlad (who I do like a lot), he isn't a "Born" fighter like his older Brother (by his own admission). Wlad gets Knocked out.
Teddy is not afraid of anyone. He would probably fight Foreman. Teddy is sorta like one of those old guys who is too tough for their own good that he wouldnt back out of a fight against anyone.
Do you think Tyson would have respected him more if Teddy showed up with his fists instead of the Gun? Not to say Tyson didn't have it coming but seriously, from a Teacher to a Student, wouldn't it have been better to stand toe to toe with Tyson and taught him what a Man does? D'Amato stood up to Tyson and rose his fists. Tyson respected that. And then the thing with Donny Lalonde. For real, that's messed up to even think about what he was thinking of doing. And then to push George in that situation because you know nothing would happen to you. And with all that said, why is a Grown Man, a supposed "Teacher," wanting to fight with fists when all "Martial Artists" are taught to calm the situation down and avoid a fight at all costs unless you absolutely have to. And if you are a trained fighter and the other is not, ESPECIALLY, you should do the Manly thing and calm down the situation and only fight if you have to.
Teddy would fight Foreman and would be brutalized. But Teddy got his face slashed to ribbons because he couldn't control himself on the streets.
