I think you should keep that one to yourself. If you watch again, you can see a sound guy over Teddy's right shoulder as you look at the screen, and you can actually see him going "what the ****?"
Well, I'd already told Sonny Liston's ghost about it, and I know how Sonny likes to blab ... so I figured everyone already knew. Yep.
Atlas knows more about boxing than anybody on here. Povetkin had his best wins under Atlas. Atlas made Povetking the man he is today.
I'd say of the 8 fighters you mentioned above given the choice would rather see one of the other 7 in the opposite corner than Duran. As for the thread. If Teddy's track record is anything to go by, it looks like Vlad might go after Hopkins record for the oldest fighter in title fights then? Oh, fuk!!
Indeed. So true. He used to train the ferocious and ferrous Mike Tyson. This tutelage was not limited to matters pugilistic. Were it not for Teddy's loving and dedicated pedagogy, Mikey might have missed the marvellous opportunity to land a crooning role in the movies when he retired. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eh4Jehu4flw Some even believe that the pupil has surpassed the master.
Agreed, what I was saying was basically that head to head I'd bet on the great fighters I'd mention against him but by no means would I count Wlad out. Wlad has too much skill, is too hard to fight and has too much power to go along with all of this to count him out against anyone though as I said certain big men I'd strongly favor against him especially because he lacks composure when hurt.
I got to laugh at these so -called experts. I know many guys that were top trainers, writers, fighters, judges, Ref's and some of them can be on the money at times but even a broken clock is correct 2X a day. Atlas has a lot of faith in himself but he is out there in his opinions. I do not think he is a very good trainer and has some very strong and twisted predictions. Vlad like many of the former champs has his flaws but he also has some very strong strengths. Atlas has his opinions but everything to him is psychological and although the mind plays a big part it is only a part of the total equation.
Wlad will be more highly regarded the further we get from the Tyson, Holmes, Ali era. I don't enjoy watching him fight but I think he'd have a great chance against everyone. Trust me, I doze off during his fights but he's athletic, huge, & fights a safety first style that maximizes his height. Nobody has an easy time with that.
Except that not only did I not give my opinion on the article, I never gave any predictions. I also posted the positive comments made by Don Chargin and Steve Farhood as a counterbalance to Atlas's negative ones. That blows a serious hole in Mong's comment regarding : " I'm so angry with the weak era and unbeatable Wlad,I'm going to start a bunch of threads in Classic on it predicting how the legends of the past defeat him easily, brutally ,and without compassion." Wouldn't you say?
