Usually many people think that being a killer puncher pfp is the samething h2h in higher weight classes.bob foster said that a jab from a hw is like a ko punch at lhw. For example .. Pfp hearns and ali were not even comparable in terms of hitting power, but h2h ali hits harder.
Tell me mw,or even 168 and 175 pounders capable to knock out (clean with a single punch) hws with good chin in a real fight.not sparring because the hw takes it easy

Langford, though his natural weight is not so easy to define. Hearns might not have HW stopping power but has considerable H2H power way above his natural weight.

Good pick langford.he had bulky frame he was like a mini tyson type body in frame.but you could argue that he was a natural small cruiser .so he does not count.but good try.
    Bob satterfield maybe?

Satterfield did spark HWs so yeah. Langford's weight is so all over the place I can't pin him. He'd fight at around 180, 160, 170, sometimes all in the same year. All this past 25 years old, so full grown man.

    Depends on the heavyweight obviously.

I think the punch Hearns finished Duran with, would put a lot of heavys on their ass.

Lets say tommy morrison or ken norton... Average chins do you think that this shot from hearns would stop them? I say no, but definitely they will be careful with his Power after this punch

Hearns stopped some cruisers at the tail end of his career so, considering some eras were composed mostly of cruisers, technically he could do it.

EDIT: Thread is MWs till LHWs without moving up so, no deal.

Bob Satterfield never weighed below 166 in his career. He turned pro at LHW. He never fought a HW when he weighed in the 160s and lost two the four fights he fought at that weight (to men naturally smaller than him). Make Satterfield weigh 160 and he gets his head handed to him by almost any HW.

Yeah but he included 168s and 175s at the end of his post.

There are some middleweights that have KO power at heavyweight though they are rare.

Fitzsimmons could do it and proved it.

Jeff Lacy, who fought at super middle had the highest PSI punch on the USA Olympic team. Lacy tested somewhere near 1000 PSI.

Fitzsimmons himself rated as high. But it's not just power, its also placement.

GGG, I think could KO heavyweights.

Whoops, missed that. Thanks for the correction. Although he still never beat a world class HW while weighing under 175 much less stopped one. I have no doubt a lot of fighters, including middleweight could knockout a top HW with one punch if the guy stood there in front of him with his chin up, eyes closed, and hands behind his back but that's not boxing. What matters is if you can do it in an actual fight and while Satterfield was a big puncher he could never get it done while weighing 175 or less when it mattered.

Langford, Fitz, Ketchel, Darcy, Walker, Hearns all proved it to one degree or another

My bet for some unproven guys would be Lausse, Steele, Hostak, Turkey Thompson, G-Man, MW Archie Moore, maybe Ceferino and Jackson.
