I've just woken up to the news of the fight and watched the KO How did the fight go? Looked to me like a soft KO was chambers exhausted? Did Wlad dominate the whole fight?
Cheers I just watched again slo mo shows his head rocking like a rolling stone! Ah man ****ing sick of the heavyweight division!
To summarize: -Wlad was landing the jab consistently for 12 rounds and marked Chambers up pretty quick. He caught him with a big right hand in the second round and a few more later on. -Chambers was trying to get on the inside and outmuscle Wlad in the clinches (although in the beginning he wrestled Wlad off him when he tried to clinch and even threw him on the canvas once). -Towards the middle rounds Chambers was trying to go for the odd power shot but wasn't landing. -Towards the late rounds Chambers was throwing a few combos but he could only hit the body and didn't show much power. Chambers did take quite a lot of flush shots throughout the fight, I guess the last one was one too much.
First round, he looked like he was game, but he didn't land a great deal (neither of them did) and the size difference was causing a problem, as he had to leap in to try and get inside Wlad's range. Second round was playing out to be just like the first, until Wlad caught him with a massive right and had him stunned. Wlad didn't finish it, though, and Chambers made it to the bell to recover. After that, Chambers went into his shell for two or three or rounds, which in retrospect was a failure as it allowed Wlad to establish dominance behind the jab. He woke up a little from six-to-eight, but by that time the pattern was set. He'd leap-in every so often and try same-handed 1-2s, but only a fraction landed -- most to the body -- and they weren't having any real effect. Meanwhile, Wlad was keeping him at bay with that jab and the occasional left-right combo. He did "OK" in the sense of doing what he could, but by my lights he didn't win a single round. Wlad went looking for the KO from 10 onwards and got it at the end of 12. Chambers looked out-of-his-depth, to be honest, despite a brave face and a game start. Looked like he could be a great cruiser, but out-manned against massive and technically-skilled heavies.
Like i said Vlad vs Chris Byrd. Chambers has no business at heavy. And espcially not in a ring with Vlad. 209?!?! And a fat 209?!? Dude could probably make light heavy.
Wlad dominated from first till last, keeping him at arms length pumping out the jab. Chambers looked like he had a decent game plan in the first round and was showing decent movement (although he still lost the round). He pick Wlad up and dumped him on the canvas in an attempt to show him that he wasn't intimidated and could compete physically (he couldn't). Klit landed a big right which Chambers did well to stay on his feet. From then on he just stood in front of Wlad in a peek a boo stance trying to slip the jab but not throwing anything meaningful back. As soon as Chambers attempted to throw a shot Wlad took one step back and was out of range. It seemed the fight was going to fizzle out until Manny Steward gave Wlad a rollicking at the end of the 11th. He told him he should have had Chambers out of there and didn't want another 'Bull**** decision'. Klit stepped it up and finished it with a left hook with seconds remaining.
Should a HW that gets beat-down by a Klit still continue? (I mean, That is pretty much as high as you can go.... Why bother?)
