as far as i know it was just a rumour that he was gay when he was boxing i think it was made official after he retired. well benny paret called him 'gay' albeit in spanish and griffith was mad at him, and unfortunatly it turned out the way it did.
I hope to see him and Luis tomorrow night at the Ring 8 meeting. If he comes, I will ask him about that. If you want, just send me your names and I will tell both of them. You can E-Mail me at This content is protected if you want.
I know it's a ridiculous fantasy, but I've wished for a while now that Griffith had fought Joey Giardello, Rodrigo Valdez, Marvin Hagler, Gene Fullmer and Curtis Cokes. It's a lot to ask for, but just one fight each is all I'm after. Just so I could call him the most proven fighter of all time. I mean, come on. Monzon, Rodriguez, Giardello, Valdez, Cokes, Fullmer, Hagler, Benvenuti, Tiger and Napoles, plus about thirty five contenders. The diversity of styles and greats there would eclipse even Moore, Maxenbloom or Langford's record.

I had the pleasure of speaking with him once and what a Gentleman. So polite and happy to speak to with me at length. Even though I admitted to him that I had only read about him and hadnt seen any footage of him, his enthusiasm to speak with me didnt wane one bit. A lovely fella all round! and seriously - the people bringing his sexuality into it really need to get out of their caves and leave their clubs behind - Neanderthals!! (which is an insult to neanderthals really)
