Tell me about Jeff Fenech......

    It seems to be well documented to me. You’re assuming knowledge beforehand thus neglect. I’m not sure he was tested for such specifically — that may have some after in an attempt to find out why he felt so weak. It’s quite common for athletes to find out about conditions after competition rather than before.

    Nine months later at full strength under the Aussie sun in Fenech’s backyard Azumah completely dismantled him so yeah, I believe.

    Nelson didnt win that first fight- he lost.
    the malaria story seems far feteched.
    Fenech in my opinion is greater then Nelson. Has alot of quality wins.
    People also overlook he crushed Greg Richardson and Greg went on to beat good fighters and become a champion latter on.
    He beat Zaragoza rather easily and Zaragoza went on to become a THREE time champion.
    Beat Villasana and he too became a champion even drawing with Esparagoza who at one time was considered the best featherweight in the world.
    Alot of people tend to overlook that Jeff startef as a bantamweight and went all the way up to jrlightweight.
    I laugh when people say Kostya was a better fighter-Jeff dominated far better opposition for a konger time in multiple weight classes.
    would have loved to see Famechon vs Fenech or Fenech vs Rose.
    i think Fenech,Rose and Famechon are the three best boxers in Australian boxing history and what order you place them in depends on what someone prefers I guess.

    Nelson wouldnt have been able to keep that pace up coming off malaria. It isnt possible.
    He wasnt dominated he just was overwhelmed by Fenech.
    Look at the rest of Fenechs fights after Nelson 2- he didnt achieve anything and got stopped by alot of boxers.
    It was Fenechs swan song in the first Nelson fight- he wasnt going to ever reach those heights again before his body gave out. And thats exactly what happened. He simply wasnt the same boxer after Nelson 1. And im a fan of niether
    Thats why i dont put a lot of stock into fight 2 with Nelson. Jeff was done the minute he entered the ring only he didnt know it. Thats all how fast a boxers career can end- overnight.
    Thats why when people get mad that certain boxers price themselves too high I dont.
    They have a limited amount of time to make the most money and at any time their career can end.

    Cobra is full Fenech apologist mode. So there's no way Nelson could have been sick in the first fight, but Fenech was most certainly shot to pieces in the rematch, eh?

    Ever had malaria?

    I did (got it in New Guinea) and there is no way in hell you could fight 12 rounds. NONE!

    I couldn't get out of bed, let alone train or have a fight. I was sweating, shaking, vomiting and was physically exhausted for about a month. Either Nelson is superhuman, had a very mild strain of it or is offering up excuses for getting worked over the first fight.

    Fenech also reckons he was weakened by asthma, allergies and side effects from cortisone injections he had in his hands pre-fight for the rematch. I put about as much stock in that as I do Nelsons malaria story (of course I'm not saying Nelson never had malaria being from Africa he likely did, just not when he stepped into the ring with Fenech in Vegas). Fighters always have an excuse for a loss or sub-par showing.

    After Nelson rematch what did Fenech accomplish?
    NOTHING.
