I remember him training in the same gym as my father when I was little and took a look at his record and he beat Ron Lyle and won a vacant NABF title. What happened to him?
Michael Dokes stopped him nice by first round and took his NABF title in January of '82.Don't know much beyond that, other than he was finished as any sort of threat.
After he was beaten up by Dokes he kinda vanished, and that fight was so so many years ago, I don't really remember it.. I guess he knew when his time was up...
Lynn Ball was a fast, hard-punching machine. Alas, absolutely no jaw. I saw the Lyle fight and Ron actually had him down prior to getting caught. He then fought undefeated Marty monroe out of Calif. Monroe as I recall was a small heavy and Ball was kicking the crap out of him in close, but Monroe would catch him with a sharp counter and drop him everytime. Don't remember how many knockdowns but Monroe stopped him in 5 then he got stopped himself by Greg Page. But if Ball had any kind of jaw at all he would have gone places.
