Anyone could print a book and state whatever they want in it. If there is no primary source listed for Fulton refusing to go on during that sparring session, there is no point to return to the subject. So far not a single primary source has been provided. Nothing to discuss.

Since this is starting up again ill offer cash to anyone who can provide primary sources that back up Darcy in any way dominated Fulton.
Its not in any paper from either Goshen or Middletown NY and i busted my ass to check.

Graeme Kent ,in his book ,"The Great White Hopes ", says Darcy "Outsmarted Fulton in a 1917 gymnasium spar,!he quotes a reporter from the Globe,[Globe?],as saying . "The result was a revelation.

I totally agree with you however, without a primary source such sound -bites are worthless.

 

I would guess the "Globe" stands for "Sporting Globe", but that paper was first published in 1922, 5 years after the event supposedly taken place. I doubt it could be New York Evening Globe as it wasn't known for covering boxing. Don't think it could be Boston Globe either.

He destroyed Fulton? **** me I heard the stories but never seen proof before. If only he got that shot at Willard in 1917.
