Watching Groves vs Degale i was struck by how immature and petulent Degale was when he realised he was facing an opponent who was going to fight differently from how he expected. The first round went to Degale in my eyes but when he started to struggle (the 2nd) he hit Groves with the shoulder and elbowed him in the next round. I don't think he butted George intentionally, but as soon as he noticed he was cut it seemed to bother him more than Groves who ignored it and fought on. A trainer who could keep his man calm and dole out good advice would have helped him enormously, but that side of his personality needs addressing or the next time he gets into deep waters it might be a bit worse than a close decision loss. If he had received a point deduction and lost a UD by 1-2 rounds, I wonder if he would be complaining as much?
