Anyone know if there's an actual condition that could stem from blows to the head? Pretty sure Garcia quit (I picked him to win and he was ahead), but JW.
Not sure but i was worried for him, very glad he is okay & got his vision, one of the most important things needed in this life, And no way was a over matched underdog who cant move his feet well who's also coming up in weight & is not carrying major power was ever going to beat Tank in all his great match making, Man leaving TMT promotions really got Tank facing the best now huh, what a difference in opposition now that he is on his own.
Yes, but it usually involves causing some type of obstruction, maybe even a temporary one to the optic nerve. Although what most likely occurred was he got concussed and his vision in that eye got ultra blurry which greatly hampered his ability to see out of it for a few minutes at least, but cleared up quite quickly. Similar to seeing stars or having blurred vision after a slight bump to the head. But when you're in a fight and you just came within a hair of being brutally KTFO, it's understandable why one would assume the worst and panic.
CS we all so this happening weeks before the fight took place & yes i know & understand that the trainers & fighter have to believe he is going to win & do the unthinkable while proving the oddsmakers, but i can't help but think it's the same process of interviews before each of these kinds of fights promising a shocking win & beating or so forth, etc you've heard it all before, It's why i purposely skip all the interviews on various channels with these opponents particularly in big mismatches which is now the standard set in todays boxing's landscape, sad.
Whats even more scarier is that Tank caused that type of damage wearing Winning gloves. Imagine if he was wearing "Clito-Reyes glubs"! The power is devastating no doubt.
Matthysse had this issue. Yes...if you're lucky it's just a shock to the nerve causing vision loss blackout or worse is damage like a detached retina which Errol Spence now suffers from and should retire soon unless he wants to risk going blind.
Anyone who is a real G in boxing has my love. Excluding a rare few like Money Mayweather. Pretty boy Floyd can get love though.
Nice minus the PBF, BTW that always seemed like a very feminine nickname to have, I mean why would any guy call himself pretty boy in the first place? I'm astonished
Think CST got the answer for the most part, but I’d like to add a general point of view. Your brain controls everything and getting hit in the wrong spot can potentially obstruct any part of your body.
Yeah he got hit in the back of his head, that’s the only punch that did any damage. Your occipital lobe at the back of your head is responsible for vision. That’s why he couldn’t see, he got smacked by an illegal punch that everyone wants to ignore. He didn’t quit, he got hit in a way he wasn’t familiar with. It’s hard to imagine just how uneducated his team and him are to not know about this consequence of a punch to the back of the head.
