It wasn't just the Chambers fight. But I would actually have it a little further down than some people here because it felt underused.
Mike Tyson Joe Louis Joe Frazier Foreman Rock Marciano Ken Norton Holyfield Tommy Morrison Tua Lamon Brewster Uysk Riddick Bowe Lewis Henry Cooper Joe Walcott Liston Ali Cooney Wlad Klitschko Povetkin
Only one mention of Povetkin? He had a brutal left hook This content is protected This content is protected
It was also a pathetic looking KO. He got hit by a decent hook then layed there to take 2-3 more before keeling over.
Jack Johnson vs Tommy Burns (1908) ( the original gazelle punch) Floyd Patterson Vs Ingemar Johannsson 2 (1960) (gazelle punch) Cassius Clay Vs Henry Cooper (1963) (the left hook that dropped Clay) Muhammad Ali Vs Cleveland Williams (1966) (Williams is dropped by Ali's left hook) Joe Frazier Vs Jimmy Ellis (1970) (Fraizer left hook) Ken Norton Vs Gerry Cooney (1981) (multiple left hooks) George Foreman Vs Gerry Cooney (1990) (Big George Foreman left hook) Evander Holyfield Vs Bert Cooper (left hook to the body) Lennox Lewis Vs Frank Bruno (1993) (the left hook that led to the stoppage)
Well, Ruddock had a ‘Hookercut’ Which he did tag Morrison with a couple of times which impressed me Tommy stayed up! But yeah speaking of Tommy… As far as just left hook I’d definitely put him in the top 5! Easily. For me, it’s hard to pick a top 5. All these guys had awesome hooks in their own way! Wladimir (ESPECIALLY in his younger years get years) had an awesome hook. Often led with it and shot it soo fast. Tua was extremely powerful. Underrated quickness with it too. The Duke… self explanatory. Arguably the most powerful left hook on the list. Perfect from a technical standpoint. Joe Frazier… Well known hook. Gerry Cooney’s was incredible and underrated. George said he hit him the hardest along with Lyle.
For me: 1. Azumah Nelson 2. Eusebio Pedroza 3. Harry Wills 4. Fitz 5. Jeannette 6. Marciano 7. Usyk 8. Foreman 9. Roman 10. Brewster
