charles was one of the greatest lhws for sure but at mw he would lose against any great. monzón,robinson,hagler,greb,lamotta,hopkins,jones,leonard,fitzsimmons... maybe cerdan,benvenutti, tuney,maybe even a prime michael nunn,hearns,rubin carter would have chance to beat him (rubin could ko emille), at mw ,ezzard charles was not "ezzard charles".

 

Beating Burley twice says me that Ez was a legit top 10 MW even at this young age
