To tell you the truth there isn't many Father/Trainers in history that I respect as an actual trainer on an elite level. Most are exactly what you described Lopez Sr to be. Listening to the coaching in the corner in between rounds this weekend, he didn't give him any tactics to make adjustments round to round. I mostly heard "motivational barking" which is evidence that the trainer doesn't have any answers as well and/or does exactly know what his fighter is capable of in order to offset the success of his opponent. We saw the same with Norman Jr.'s coach vs Haney.......Shawn Porter vs Crawford..... All the 'Rah Rah' for your kid is great, you are supposed to be their biggest fan, but when you get them the fight you been campaigning for, you need to prepare them by having more than just a Plan A in order to be successful.
