Matias jab and his unconventional timing will disrupt Teo, as Teo will look to counter Matias, but Matias has very weird timing with handspeed and power. Matias has a jab(Matias is naturally a southpaw so his jab is a power shot) it's a short compact shotgun like jab. Matias throws 88 punches per round so the difference between him and Taylor is workrate and usage of the jab/body work. Teofimo is very athletic and quick, he will make Matias miss alot. However, Teo has 2 TKO/KO in his last 8 fights, he is a small 140. If Teofimo can't hurt Matias, it will be a brutal night for Teo because Matias slowly disects his opponents until they quit.

Teofimo blamed his asthma on his loss, Matias isn't the guy you want to have pulmonary issues with. Taylor has a low workrate compared to Matias, Matias is going to make Teofimo fight on his back pedal. Two factors for me that make a huge difference in this fight:

1. Lopez often swings wide and makes athletic leaping punches that look beautiful in highlights, but in the long haul, Matias has short compact fly swatter punches, in an exchange or counter Matias will have the advantage, 72 inch reach and the flexibility to create small angles to fit his punches inside his opponents guard. Matias vs Ponce is a good example of this. Ponce has great offense, handspeed and power but his punches were too loopy and this gave Matias room to wiggle in and get his offense of. Lopez can beat Matias if he's tighter with his power shots. Lopez throwing wide will be a dangerous risk.

2. Scar tissue and beard: Lopez cuts open very easy. Kambosos had left tons of scar tissue on Lopezs nose. I'm not sure if Lopez has the chin to go 12 with Matias. I don't think Lopez knocks him out, he has to win rounds and outbox Matias, catch him coming forward. Lopez has to make Matias respect his power or Lopez will give his best Jamaine Ortiz impersonation against Matias.

Great breakdown! Got me hyped up to see the fight even more, it could be fight of the year if you ask me.

The more I watch from Matias, the more I lean towards the fight being 50/50. Cuz I originally thought it would be a close but clear decision for Teo because of styles, but now I'm not so sure.

If I were to compare Matias to any one of Teo's old opponents, oddly I'd say Lomachenko. They're both southpaws that love to come foward and throw volleys of punches. Loma may operate at a slightly higher skill level imo, but Subriel no doubt more powerful and more relentless.

If Teo can keep him at bay, or atleast stay patient and continue landing his shots clearer, like he did when Loma was pouring it on him in the later rounds, then he has a chance to pull of the win. If not, he's in for a long night or may even get stopped. Sh*t this fight needs to happen, it's the best clash of styles.

Also if Haney fought Matias and let's Matias press him like Loma did, game over.

Matias is tailor-made for Teo. Teo eats up come-forward fighters with no defense.
