The 14 years old -maybe lanky- Stevenson competed against Henríquez in 71 kg(about 157 pounds).And Henriquez beat him.Be fair! Put the 14 year old skinny weak Stevenson
against the about 200 pounds ripped muscular 14 years old Tyson.
Ok Stevenson was a great amateur fighter. But AMATEUR. He looked good against unexperienced,young still amateur americans like Tubbs,Biggs, other guys from cuba
or mediocre unathletic east-european fighters.
These unathletic (soviet,hungarian) guys quality muscle mass was far away
from the pro-fighters. Just an idiota can't see the difference between an amateur Lennox Lewis' body and the pro Lennox Lewis' body.
And sad but true an unathletic guy like Visotsky could knock Stevenson out.
Now.A mental and stamina-problematic,post-prison,idiotic Tyson could win
the first round against the prime Lewis.And this about 250 pounds muscular Lewis
could knock this crap version Tyson out in the 8. round only.
Can you imagine the lanky and very slow but skilled Stevenson against pro Lewis,Tyson,247 pounds Bruno etc? The dream and the reality are different things.
Lanky guy never beat Tyson in pro. I think Stevenson never beat very muscular-
maybe steroid overloaded- fighter.
Stevenson was a good dancer but only Ali was great with this style in pro.
And everybody Knows Ali's health nowadays.
And who's the best fighter now?W.Klitschko. And check the difference between
Leapai,Wach,Thompson,Chagaev,Arreola,Fury etc. and w. klitschko.
W. klitschko is muscular ripped,well-trained.Leapai,Wach are garbage.

If you think my last post was "utter rubbish" i give up with you.
My post was based on known facts and common sense.
At the time Stevenson beat Biggs in their first fight Biggs was still developing ( we are talking very young guys here) dont forget amateurs dont usually stay amateurs much past their early twenties if they are going to turn pro...but Stevenson was a fully fledged man fully developed late twenties early thirties boxing these kids...by the time the fought the second time Tyrell was his equal.Many thought he won.
Your point about headguards is utter nonsense regarding the first fight as Tyrell was actually put down with a body shot !!
Anyhow i stick to my view that Stevenson would probably have met with a heavy defeat against Tyson in the scenario that you put forward.
From what i've read here, those posters who know their boxing ALL seem to agree.

It was the second fight..Biggs was winning a close and exciting fight when he was hit Golota style in his marbles...Tyrell went down but it was ruled a knockdown.This clinched the decision for Stevenson.
But lets not get away from the topic.
Tyson would've in all likelihood have shredded him.
What's your basic theory behind you being so sure Stevenson wins ?

 

I get lots of abuse but I seem to correct folk with facts that they get wrong.

My basic theory is that Stevenson was huge, I'd say he's as tall as the Klitschko's and taller than the stats say of him, he also possessed a right hand that was probably the most powerful in the business, be it pro or amatuer.

It all depends on how he approaches the fight, if he fights safety first then it's likely he loses on points but if he throws that right hand with conviction there's a good chance he drops Tyson.
