He went pro with Top Rank and made his debut on a Manny Pacquiao undercard in Las Vegas. I wouldn't describe his route to the top as hard. He's made the most of an amazing set of opportunities that have been given to him - because of his ability - that a lot of other hot prospects could only dream of.

Quite comical people actually falling for Lopez's BS smokescreen reason for why he dislikes Loma so much and expecting Loma to be respectful back to someone who has been incredibly disrespectful and who harbors such a ridiculously irrational hatred for him. If you think Loma instigated all of the bad blood and disrespect you obviously haven't followed either of the careers or aren't aware of what a classless POS Lopez Sr. is.

Yeah at the very bottom of the card probably in a non televised fight or swing fight. He didn't have the hype of a loma a garcia a Haney or a shakur

    Heh.
Yet you are a fan of Wilder. Boggles the mind cause that guy is ****ing delusional. Worse than this dude. I'm not sure how you can explain that one. If this guy said he wanted a body in the ring you'd have gone more ballistic than usual.

I think Loma felt the power in the first round, he was caught with a couple of good body shots and a cuffing right hand, wasn't clean but you heard them punches on the mics there and they sounded heavy enough.

I honestly believe and said it at the time, Loma felt the power and didn't want to commit to anything while Lopez was still fresh, sharp and strong.

The problem for Loma was that Lopez didn't fade off until after halfway, well when I say "fade off" I mean Loma must have felt a change, the power dull a little, that sting had gone.

Also Loma had to make a move at some point and he did in round 8, he knew he couldn't let any more rounds slip away so he pressed.

As for a rematch, I wouldn't complain, I enjoyed it, it was a good fight, interesting and we are all still talking about it.

Thing is I think Lopez will go after Haney, Davis, Garcia (assuming he beats Campbell).

He's never not been with a major promoter. He didn't have to go around hawking tickets to small hall shows to get on cards. He was a touted amateur who was unlucky to not make to the US team. He then represented Honduras and was eliminated by a medallist.

He was manoeuvred to fight for world title within 15 fights. He was ranked top ten with 3 of the 4 major bodies within 12. Now credit to him for taking those fights but let's not pretend he wasn't a guy who has been well invested in from the very outset. We don't need to exaggerate Lopez - he's doing great as it is.

He's the youngest 4 belt champ in history.

Of course, he didn't have Loma's number. Loma got up in that ass when he finally decided he wanted to. He landed 43 percent of his punches on Lopez. Loma just didn't want to get hit. This didn't have to be a difficult fight for Loma. It should have been a walk over. Loma's the one who made it hard on himself.

Loma has fought guys with power and speed before. I think Lopez blunted Loma's offensive by not reacting to his feints. I said this before. You know your stuff. Rewatch the fight and see if what I say is true.

Well i go along with the part of "expected more from him" as i sure did think that .

With regard the "basic fighter" statement i guess he was the one facing Loma so was best person to judge that, however a harsh statement for sure.

Loma was lauded as best P4P etc but did not in my opinion fight as such against Lopez, i say that as someone who prefight thought and wanted Loma to win.

23 year old, holder of the 4 belts and beat the supposed best P4P fighter to gain them, i guess he has earned the right to talk the talk as he did walk the walk.

As Ali is quoted as saying "It's not bragging if you can back it up", well Lopez is not keeping his head below the parapet, he is shouting from the castle ramparts, so putting himself in a position to be knocked off his perch should somebody wish to try.

He will likely earn bigger purses because of his boastful arrogance, he goes long way to selling the fight by his verbals.

Well he is putting a big old target on his back through his antics, it is now up to an opponent to hit the bullseye and prove Lopez wrong.

Only a rematch can answer these questions. Hope it doesn't end up like Jones/Tarver rematch.

I will give it another and keep my eyes open for it, you know what you're talking about so I'm already assuming you're correct.

He was not a big name amateur or prospect like loma Haney garcia or Shakur. They started getting good paydays immediately Lopez didn't. Alot of guys sign with a company like top rank early that doesn't mean much. Lopez started to sell himself his dad talked trash and he was exciting that's when people started to take notice.

Big enough for ESPN to run a story on him signing hyping him up as part of Arum's Olympic signings for the year.

The guy's good. He doesn't need to have a Rocky story to get given credit for his impressive achievements.

What do you expect him to say?

    - oh yes, I saw there, lomo, doing NOTHING for 7 rounds and I said to myself, oh, man, look at how he does NOTHING, I'm beating an ATG.

Honestly, you see lomo for the first time this saturday night, and what would you think about him?

On the other hand, he's a 23 yo boy enjoying his BIG BIG victory, the victory of his life. Let him enjoy it, damn. If not now, when?

I think that he's not being humble, and his ego, and his daddy and blahblahblah... but the day of his victory? I understand him. Let him enojoy it. "Im the best, dude, didnt you see that? are you blind?" it was his moment.
