Loma's tactics were disrespectful to Lopez. He thought he could give 6 rounds away watching him and doing nothing, then jump on Lopez and stop him. For me that is the sign of someone who has severely under estimate their opponent.

Doing absolute nothing like that for 6 rounds was basic fighter tactics. When you are facing an opponent who isnt going to crumble or quit against you when you turn it on.

I think Lopez' thinking was that he was really in for a difficult fight vs Loma, that he was going to have to grind and will himself to be able to beat Lomachenko. The fact that Loma was afraid to engage and barely put some resistance in rounds 8, 9, and 10, yeah, I really do think Lopez was expecting so much more from Loma which is why he viewed the Loma that he faced as a basic fighter.
Lopez easily took care of a fighter who many thought was the best p4p.

Loma did'nt give the rounds away, Lopez' punches were hurting him and imo it looked like to me like Loma was feeling that if he let his hands go against Lopez who at that point was fresh, powerful, and sharp, he was going to get badly hurt, and so Loma decided he needed to wait.

This is exactly what people used to say about Floyd after every one of his fights

Because Floyd was and still is an intensely unlikable a-hole.

I've been calling Teofimo an obnoxious pompous jerkoff for quite some time, long before Loma's name ever came out of his mouth. Nothing new on my end. I'd be saying the same thing if it was Campbell he'd just beaten.

Yet Donaire and Maravilla are beloved, and Broner is seen by all as the jackass he is. One loss for Teo, people will tire of his pomposity very quickly. Arrogant scumbag can only take you so far before it eventually turns people off. It's not cute.

I think it was a bit of both. Lopez had meat on his punches that made Loma reluctant. But I also would expect a fighter with everything on the line to go into the trenches and fight. Didnt look like Loma wanted to go to the trenches until the fight was already lost. He only really stepped on the gas in the 8th. Perhaps there was ring rust there too

Lomachenko uses a basic 'old soviet style' , an Olympic boxing style.
But he's mastered the basics to a point where he's exceptional, a true master, and he's been able to convert quickly to a world class professional.

I don't know why people think he's the greatest fighter "pound for pound" whatever the **** that is supposed to mean.

Floyd remained undefeated and never made his ego run away with him unlike Matrix man who was severly exposed.

Floyd had his Salido moment against Castillo, and his Lopez moment against Maidana, lucky for Mayweather, he was the A-side and had that good ol' fashioned American home field advantage. And yeah, I know... but, but, but.. Floyd won. Of course he did, officially... you in denial fanboy lemming. And for the record, giving away 6 rounds and coming back to almost make it a draw, isn't being severely exposed, it's called being too cautious and utilizing a terrible strategy. But whatever... it was a schooling according you right? You knob.
