Wouldn't shock me at all if he lost his next fight against some unheralded fighter. He does blow hot a cold a lot, which is why many thought Taylor was the favourite but also why many thought Lopez had a chance is he could perform at his best. Lopez is still young, people forget that because he's been to the top of the mountain already and been around for a while, he may become more consistent when he matures a little. He still has a lot to prove in my opinion even after this win.
Agreed. He seems to be at his best when he's counter punching against fighters known for their counterpunching abilities. Stands off and forces them to engage but his timing is elite when he gets it right. That combined with his athleticism makes him look fantastic in that situation
I think it was more a case of lomachenko needing a warm up after healing from his injury, by which time Teo was made to face a mandatory. I'm sure the rematch would've happened had kambosos not thrown a spanner in the works. That said, even if Teo had beaten kambosos, loma had to head to the Ukraine a few months later to help out with the conflict over there.
With the Kambosos he has the hand speed and the work rate etc. TLO defense was shocking he had his hands down and Kambosos got in a few solid shots. But I thought people forget Teo had Kambosos hurt and ummm. That's boxing. Anything can happen. Tyson got shocked by unheralded Buster Douglas. Pacquiao got dropped by Hussien. Shyt happens! Move on and get back to the drawing board and learn from it. Start back again from the bottom now were here. 2 division lineal champion now we're here..Yeaah!
Nakatani? That wasn't a close fight. Competitive in brief moments but it was a clear win for Lopez. He was only about 20 years of age at the time too. I don't remember Nakatani really hurting him but Lopez certainly hurt him on a number of occasions. I'll admit, it was closer than the scorecards suggested but I'd have been happy with 116-112 in favour of teo
I felt that Taylor could be a good style for Lopez. He's at his best against come forward fighters. That's why I think he can do very well against Prograis also. But if Haney moves up... Not a good style for Lopez, I think.
honestly he looked like a tank in their, nothing taylor through at him even bothered him the slightest.
Yeah, people have talked about that Taylor had problems making weight, but Lopez looked significantly bigger and stronger to me. Was surprised by that. Has anything been said about their weight in the ring?
