Loma is the clear number 1. A fair offer is whatever Loma deems it to be.

Lopez can carry on doing whatever he wants but he won't be the number 1 if he doesn't face Loma.

This idea that lesser ranked fighters are entitled to anything is nonsense.

If he wants to be the man dictating terms he needs to be the man in the division, beating Loma will achieve that, but he doesn't want it.

These guys just do NOT like that Loma is getting paid much more. Teo has a single belt, and a SINGLE top win as a pro. Loma's resume is 10X better w/ the same amount of fights, AND has the WBO, WBA, and WBC. And these clowns think this deserves close to an even purse!?!?

I think Teo has a higher ceiling than Loma. I'm certain he'll be a champ at 140 eventually. If his frame gets bigger as he grows, he can probably do 147 in the future. The kids got talent. But at this point, a single win w/ a belt is dime a dozen.

Teo and his dad have been begging for this fight . Teo has been shooting his mouth of on how great he is and how he can and will beat anyone.

gets the fight he wants and a career high earning but won’t take fight. Now it’s I’ll fight you only if you pay me what I want.

Doesn’t sound like a confident guy to me. Sounds like a duck. He beats Loma and he will be the headline on every major sporting news that covers boxing. He will be the man at 135. If the fight was exciting the rematch will be a PPV and he now commands the money.

I've already predicted for long time that Lopez would play hard to get as soon as he become champion. I saw one of his online interview that he said 'it won't be cheap to fight him' when he was asked if Loma would chase him as soon as he gets the belt. So I'm not surprised to see how he is behaving now. But I can understand what a man (and also his father) from his background really want. Even if the Coronavirus pandemic does not exist, I'm pretty sure he would ask big.

We all know that all three parties want this fight to happen. Loma, Lopez and Arum. I even suspect that Loma (under advise of Arum) accepted the relinquishment of his WBC title and become franchise champion in not more than two months from his crowning is because he targetted the winner between Commey and Lopez. He could have fought another fight last year since he doesn't suffer much injury against Campbell, but he chose to rest and recover to prepare for the upcoming big fight the next year. As for Arum, Loma-Lopez is probably his biggest project in 2020 because many boxing fans wait and anticipate this. He even planned to have this fight in MSG. However, unfortunately mother nature said differently as the pandemic happens to the entire world. If there is no pandemic and the fight went as planned, both Loma and Lopez quite easily would make double of what they are offered on the negotiation table today. Imagine the popularity, income from the MSG live gate and the prospect of this fight elevated to PPV. I created topic some time ago "Should Loma and Lopez take a pay cut ?" And majority agree that they should take whatever they are offered best and make the fight happen.

This is a unification! It seems Loma fears losing hence not wanting a fair shake. Pathetic.

Pay him. He deserves it. The promoters are greedy ****s. Loma is getting so much more. Even Campbell got paid more. Pay him.

If you're going the unification route, Loma has 3/4 of the belt.

He's the bona-fide champion of the division.

He is offering Lopez more money than he has ever made before in his career.

I'm surprised you're siding with Lopez here, most former Floyd fans I've spoken to on here are quite big on Lomachenko and appreciate that Lopez is trying to duck him.

Not fair. Loma held two titles and Lopez held only one. Plus Loma has already been lightweight champion and defending his titles for at least two years. Even with the simplest math, you'll get 66.6-33.3% split in favor of Loma. And you do know that's not how boxing works nowaday. There're factors like reputation and popularity involved here. Even Canelo got bigger split even when GGG had all the belts in the first fight.

On what basis do you think Teofimo Lopez deserve a split that close to half pot of prize money ?

you have to be joking lol. the P4P #1 with all the accolades and who brings in the fans, against a relative unknown with a belt yeah 48% sounds totally reasonable. o_O

How does a guy w/ a single good win deserve close to parity in the purse? Loma had as many top wins as Teo currently does in only his 3rd pro fight FFS.

I don’t think either guy is ducking the other. I think they just want to maximize their money. No issue with that. As the great Larry Holmes use to say “I can do it but I can’t do it for free”. Promoters will try and reduce fighter purses because of COVID-19.

:duh That's your reason for him to decline a purse almost TWICE as high as his prior fight? Ok Mr. Dunning Kruger... stick to name dropping as your attempts try and sound smart...
