Not only the venue of the fight, the defending champion of the weight class shall also dictate the fight money. This is a champion priveledge and even bigger if he is unified champion of all four belts.

fight should be made wherever the champ chooses to defend. concessions should be made for challenger, who is also undisputed, but the ring belongs to the champ putting his titles in play.

Ah the old he hasn't beat fighter A therefore he can't beat fighter B one LOL .. original.. Ye, Taylor dwarfs Loma mate, he was also carrying a shoulder problem anyway.. & Lopez at 140 against Taylor would look an entirely different fight, your logic is so dumb too.. who had Lopez faced before Loma that would make u think he could beat him?! NO ONE! Taylor has looked exceptional against far better competition than Lopez had prior to Loma.. why couldn't a talent like Taylor beat Lopez if Lopez pulled off a victory like that based off such limited competition beforehand? Lopez has nothing Taylor couldn't deal with.. his footwork, counter punching & inside game are better too.. Yes Loma is more skilled than anyone Taylor has fought but he's also unable to get those silky skills past a certain weight too.. as demonstrated at LW.. he's not as effective.. Loma could beat some light punching 140lbers probably but as we just saw with Frampton, everyone has a weight ceiling .. there are the odd juiced up exceptions like pac and Canelo but generally most fighters hit a weight barrier.. Loma was not comfortable with the power of Lopez (who's basically a shrunk down WW) that was obvious.. so don't use Loma as the argument as to why Taylor couldn't beat Lopez you plank.. Taylor would destroy Loma & Nakatani.. & I'm a massive Loma fan. Taylor beats Lopez.

The answer is in the word 'undisputed'.

If Teo was "undisputed" then no other fighter in his division could 'dispute' that he is not the outright champion.

    However, Haney can 'dispute' this.

Therefore, Josh Taylor is correct and Teo is not the 'undisputed' champion.

    Simple as that really.

He for 135 lbs is effective to hurt a guy only if he manages to land body punches.
Loma was 126 lbs division champ who moved up to 130 and 135.

Loma was not comfortable also vs Campbell and Linares, they too were too huge for him.
Doesn't matters that he won these fights, they still looked more huge and powerful than he.

It'd be one of the most interesting fights in boxing for sure.

Annoying pitfall to that logic is the crazy amount of belts going around! Tank vs Barrios is being touted as a 'Title' fight, and I bet Tank will be saying he's a champ after it.

Can he dispute Taylor? Of course not (it's WBA 'regular' title), but it does mess with the semantice of Undisputed.

There should be no other champs at all!

And, Haney was previously only 'regular' champ, being elevated after Loma was made whatever that 'franchise' champ pish is! Lot of pish!

I agree it's absolutely ridiculous and I think it harms the best fighting the best...... as fighter's can pick up "belts", keep there "0" and make money fighting fights that don't really prove anything.

That's why I appreciate what Josh Taylor has done in only 18 fights. He hasn't done it the easy way by hand picking fights and probably deserves a medal alone just for navigating through the political bull**** of all the governing bodies to be able to hold all 4 belts.

At least with the UFC it is one belt and the best regularly fight the best in order to retain that belt.

Boxing on the other hand, is becoming a joke in that sense and has been for quite some time now.

Exactly why I don't consider Taylor undisputed until he beats Mario Barrios.

And just to prove my point earlier...

Taylor Holds WBA "Super" Title AKA what should be the ONLY WBA world title
Barrios Holds WBA "Regular" Title AKA - wouldn't be a title at all aside from filling WBA coffers!

It gets even more confusing when you look at something like GGG, where he was "Regular" champ for a few yeasr but the "Super" champ was vacant. Did GGG really tie Hopkins 20 defenses?

    Such a feckin mess!

And shame on WBC makin it even worse with this Franchise champ nonsense!
