I been avoiding joining the Teofimo bandwagon, but after this weekend its clear this kid has the goods. While I think they picked a great opponent because Diego hits light. He still has quick hands and knows how to work angles. Teofimo was having none of that. It seem like he knew Diego's timing right off the bat. I have never seen someone get countered so easily before and repeatedly. Crushing brutal counter punching all night long. Man it was tough to watch sometimes. Huge shout out to Diego for not quitting. I dont see any blame in the ref's work.
I don't see it personally. Give him some decent tests where he has to figure someone out and use his IQ a bit more and he'll give him a damn good fight though.
Sad thing is if they do fight, it will most likely be when Loma is a bit over the hill, seeing as Teo is still very young.
yeah, that's a shame. Plus this being Lopez' last year at lightweight. i hope they can somehow meet where Loma fans can't say "Loma was too old" if he loses, and Lopez fans can't say "he was too green" if he loses. Although knowing boxing, they'll always be excuses
This kid could be the best thing to happen to Loma, clearly getting hyped, very talented and he's got attitude. Then get's destroyed by Loma, makes Loma look great. Win, win for Loma.
