Come on, isn't it a smidge hypocritical to say I'm gonna get humbled for the hubris of my prediction when you routinely pick against Shakur and then never give him any credit for beating the men you think have the skills and ability to beat him?

 

You just set the standard on how to call people out!

 

My main reasoning is I think that Shakur is fragile. He admitted to being badly hurt from a body shot that was right before the bell against Valdez he said he almost vomited in the corner between rounds. Zepeda hurt him and should've been credited with a knock down that sequence is how I see Lopez getting to him when he is trapped on the ropes and his shots will have a lot more on them than Zepeda. Padley was also bothering him early on Shakur didn't really go after him until Padley was gassed from taking the fight on short notice and even then Shakur was hesitant to go for the kill. I think the reason that less talented guys like Kambosos and Nakatani gave him trouble is because these guys are not afraid to get hit and in their prime were able to take punishment. Shakur has yet to prove that despite being highly talented.

While it’s true that Teo struggles with movers/outboxers due to being inept at fighting off the front foot, I can also see it going his way due to Shakur fighting very conservatively against more athletic/explosive guys. We’ve seen in the past that despite not having a crazy KO percentage, he’s made guys like Loma, Ortiz, and Martin fight more passively than they normally do. Who’s to say Shakur will be any different? Especially looking at his performance against de los santos. In this case, low punch output might cost him since he’s not the champ.

 

Teo going to shut alot of people up, Teo only has one loss due to mental state.

When this guy is dailed in he a beast , and Shakur going to find out why at 28 same age as Teo he hasn't fought the same level of opponents as Teo has .. Teo beaten the higher level of guys and this experience is going to show Saturday night..

I think petty is more apt than spiteful but oh well. I think you’re a good poster and an alright guy, but you’re obviously incredibly biased against Shakur and always have been. I just don’t want to hear any excuses for Teofimo if and when he loses.

 

It's a good time to start revisiting both Teo and Shakur's most important fights and victories leading up to this Saturday. Very impressive performances from both of them.

Shakur's fight with Yoshino is a reminder that he's not as pillow fisted as most make him out to be but just a sharp accurate puncher that can be spiteful if he chose to sit down on his shots. And Teo's fight with Barboza is also a reminder that he's an excellent boxer in his own right.
