Put this into perspective: everyone is always talking about how Spence is a weight bully and a massive WW. Well, out of nowhere Crawford looks to have become the biggest WW in all of boxing all while his speed and power have shot through the roof. Spence is a natural welter, Crawford isn't. And I bet Spence is clean or as clean as a legit top boxer can be nowadays. Clearly testing doesn't mean **** anymore. Soon someone is gonna die in the ring on a big PPV event. Something has to be done. Tonight, a natural SFW strolled into the ring looking like a MW and somehow far surpassed Khan is the speed department by a HUGE clip. **** the tests.

I've been watching this sport long enough to read the body language of a fighter who has been genuinely hurt by a low blow and Khan was absolutely not acting and clearly had been sickened by the shot.

If the protector is hit at an angle with velocity and blunt force, it will push itself into your nut sack and cause serious pain.

Khan quit and I don't really blame him. But the ref wasn't very clear.

Khan was trying to rest and recover but the ref kept rushing him to go back to the fight asking "you ok??" every few seconds and getting nervous. He never told Khan he was offering him the 5 minutes.

If khan say's "no i'm not ok I can't keep going" then he doesn't know if the ref is gonna stop the fight or offer him the rest period. So khan kept being noncommittal with his answers.

Virgil figured Khan only had a 5% chance of winning even before the low blow. So he saw no need to send a further weakened Khan out to get another highlight reel ko for no reason. Virgil probably just gave Khan another 4 or 5 years before CTE kicks in.

True but he didn't give it anywhere near five minutes to see if that feeling subsided..

**** off with this nonsense. Crawford was a big guy seriously draining to get down to 130. When you’re fully fed at a more natural weight of course you’re going to be stronger.

Because Virgil decided to stop it before 5 minutes could elapse. And the ref was pressuring Khan to re-start the match. The referee should have advised Khan that he had 5 minutes, I never once heard the referee say he had 5 minutes. Poor refereeing.

Paid for taking nut-shots? I think not. That was a serious punch to the balls, and those hurt like hell, worse than any kind of body punch can hurt you, and the pain and recovery time is much much longer.

Anyway, before you verbally abuse me, like I said in my previous post that you replied to, Crawford was well and truly on his way to a serious full-on KO victory (and not the "TKO" victory he received).

Ya, fully fed of anabolic androgenic steroids. I don't care how much he increased his calorie intake, when you start climbing weight classes like that and either maintain your speed and power or raise those two aspects -- you are juicing you're tits off. That's it

A lot of Crawford's opponents make the mistake of thinking they're going to be bigger than him, both Horn and Khan being two of the most recent. Crawford weighed 157 against Diaz and Postol when he was campaigning down at 140 and he fought Postol almost 3 years ago and he was rehydrating as much as 15-18lbs at 135 , 15-17llbs at 140, and I'll wager he's doing the same at 147 and definitely a minimum of 15.

If he weighed 157 down at 140 almost 3 years ago and did this as soon as he departed that weight how much do you think he's coming in at up at 147

    Per his S&C coach

''We've trained harder since his last fight, putting more weight on him - good weight - putting some more muscle on him, and just getting him bigger, because we've always know he was going to have to move up in weight eventually, so that was a big part of it - just getting him heavier''

''He has easily put on 10lbs of muscle all the while by maintaining speed and athleticism.''

Some of the Mods sometimes say things that I don't agree with, including yourself, however this statement by you is straight up the truth!

Yes, without that nut-shot Khan was already on his way to a full-on KO loss. Crawford was coming for him and Khan looked really shot tonight. With that said, that was a hard shot directly at the nuts, listening to Andy Lee (commentating on BT Sports) saying that "Khan should have gone out on his shield" is so dumb. Getting hit in the balls is THEE worst pain ever, much much worse than a perfect body-shot, and takes much more time to recover from. I don't blame Khan for not continuing.

Crawford hit Khan with a thudding low blow in the right groin area in the 6th round. That blow could have shifted the protective cup into Khan's privates, or it could have impacted the femoral nerve, which runs through that area, and would be consistent with Khan reporting that his leg "went" after the blow. My problem is that referee David Fields was continually all up in his face about continuing the fight right then and there! Fields should have told Khan he had the full 5 minutes to recover, if necessary, and then walked away and let Khan recover! It was Fields pressuring Khan to continue, that led to Hunter asking Khan if he wanted to continue and Khan saying no, that caused the fight to be stopped when it was. We all know Crawford was going to win the fight, most likely by stoppage. But Khan was reasonably competitive, although I had only given him the 3rd round. Khan was landing occasional scoring blows, and Crawford wasn't repeatedly hitting him with concussive blows, despite the ESPN commentators mentioning as early in the 4th or 5th round that Garcia should be starting to consider when to throw in the towel. Especially considering this was a PPV, and that per ESPN, Khan will earn a minimum purse of $5 million compared to Crawford earning a minimum purse of $5.5 million, I think Khan should have been given a REAL chance to continue.
