    I understand the first paragraph completely. And yet, it still baffles my mind that the current HW champion of the world lost to Shawn Porter when they were both 19.

    There is quite a bit of difference between a 19 year old and somebody at least 22 plus. At 19 you're basically half boy half man as far as physical development. But it's not like you're a little kid either, far from it.

    I dont care how big Porter is. Hes nowhere near Usyk size.

    At 14 I was about 5'5" and wrestled in a weight class for which the limit was 98 pounds. That was same day weigh ins.

    As an adult I'm a lean 5'10" 155 pounds.

    It's a meet halfway situation. Porter is a natural super middleweight (who just happens to have been able to comfortably make the welter limit without deleterious effect for the better part of a decade), not a natural welter. Usyk was a natural SMW as well in his teens, and ever since has been a natural cruiser. It all jives when you think of it that way but...yeah, at first blush, it definitely gives you vertigo. :lol:

    I think a combination of that (his likeable personality) and his fan-friendly style and demeanor in the ring have sort of put horse blinders on everyone and innoculated him from the criticisms that would be levied at pretty much anybody else in his shoes...ie the fact that you never see him called a 'weight bully', despite, since 2012, being a natural MW/SMW fighting exclusively welters (in many cases natural or former 140lbers and lightweights, which is bananas when you think about so many of his notable amateur opponents being professional 168lbers, light heavies, cruisers and heavyweights).

    Brook, Thurman, Spence, Ugas and Garcia
