I like TC. I think he brings cool intangibles like old school grit, an iciness, and he has a focused, psychotic gaze in his lazy eyes. This dude is teak tough and I see no quit in him. I also think he'll be a borderline elite fighter in a couple of more fights. BUT the man simply is NOT the Fighter of the Year!!!

Ricky Burns was damaged goods and literally got his jaw shattered by Beltran.

Yuriorkis Gamboa victory was dominant, and a GOOD win, but TC held a massive size advantage. Leading up to and after the fight, TC was saying that Gamboa had no business in the division!

Ray Beltran, a solid, solid win. But let's be real, Ray is a tough journeyman, no more, no less!

Sergey Kovalev is my Fighter of the Year (dominated the Alien Professor via Boxing Clinic).

    Runner Ups:

    Manny Pacquiao
    Naoya Inoue

You voted for Naoya Inoue in the ESB FOTY poll. :deal

I picked Inoue as well, but Crawford's three wins- and the fact that he won a lineal championship at lightweight-probably place him just about on par with Krusher, who faced two unheralded contenders and an ATG, but ancient Hopkins.

No issue with Krusher, Inoue or Crawford being selected, truthfully.

Really? I could have sworn I voted Sergey and I've been very consistent and vocal about KOVA being the FOTY. I'm fine w/ KOVA or Naoya.

Kovalev is the man but I don't think you get fighter of the year with one good win

If it went like that then Cotto deserves it :yep

Kovalev also knocked out Agnew and Caparello in 2014. The victory over Hopkins was insanely impressive because he put a boxing clinic on him. It wasn't like he used his size and power to power through him.

Mauricio Herrera is the real fighter of the year 2014, not Kovalev nor anyone else, and we boxing fans should make a petition or put up a site aknowledging that.

Perfectly reasonable. His year was top 4, IMO.
