Terence "Bud" Crawford is the BWAA's 2014 Fighter of the Year (WTF)

Why does Kovalev deserve it so clearly over Crawford? Wins over Gamboa, Beltran and Burns are more impressive to me than Agnew, Capparello and a 50 yr old Hopkins

 

He doesn't. Inoue deserves it over both.

Oh sure his strength and power had nothing to do with beating an old blown up MW. As soon as Hopkins tasted his power in round 1 he went into survival mode. You can't put a boxing clinic on someone that isn't throwing any punches.

 

I agree, only mentioned Kovalev as OP stated him as his pick.

 

I don't have a problem with Crawford, he fought better opposition overall then Kovalev. Kovalev fought two stiffs, and Hopkins. Crawford fought all ranked guys, albeit none comparatively as good a single win as Kovalev's clinic on Hopkins.

 

Kovalev and GGG did not fight worthy enough opposition.

Kovalev was better than GGG though. As he fought B-hop. A win I will still give him credit for.

Manny gets a lot of credit for Bradley and he should. I don't think he should get too much credit for beating Algeri. Although Algeri was champ, he beat a hypejob, who beat a hypejob, who won the belt from it being vacated. Algeri simply isn't that great.

TC fought:

Burns, Gamboa, Beltran. All solid fighters. TC was easily fighter of the year.
