So he lacks motivation to fight Porter?

When your chasing Spence and PBC chuck the jobber to the stars your way i can see why

Terence im my view is tired of the PBC BS and is just gonna carry on fighting average guys and has lost any desire to finalise a real legacy

Beating Porter wont change Spences tune so why bother?

    Get a belt, check

    Cross the street BS

    Spence is the new Wilder

With respect to my boy Erroll Spence when like him you are making upwards of $15-20 Million a fight and packing out Cowboys Stadium in Texas with close to 50,000 fans you have clearly made a breakthrough no doubt about that. Check the numbers for Spence which don’t lie. Even the car crash managed to raise his profile though that was an unfortunate occurrence.

Bud is still on the wrong side of the streets. His promoter Bob Arum is complaining about losing money on him. He does not want to fight a top welterweight like Porter so his career is fading into obscurity.

Is that a regular occurrence? I know there was a v big crowd for the Mikey Garcia fight, but wasn't some of that down to Garcia's fanbase? He was at Staples for the Porter fight and 16,000 at Arlington for Danny Garcia, maybe implying that a Latino dance partner is required for the bigger numbers?

Either way, he's made lots of money and good luck to him. Personally I think he's failed to fulfil that early potential and if he doesn't fight Crawford that's going to hurt his legacy amongst boxing fans, but with millions in the bank maybe he doesn't care?

Blatantly fights for money and not legacy

Which is fine but he should admit it

Its why he wants to lose his 0 to Canelo

He is building his legacy fine money wise and resume wise unifying the titles. He has Kell Brook (when he was world champion), the then undefeated Mickey Garcia 4 division world champion, Danny Garcia and Shawn Porter on his resume. Next up is the WBA Champion Ugas this Summer and if he wins adds it to his strap season collection with WBC and IBF belts. This is what he said he was going to do all along take care of his side of the street first. Once Done Bud can get it but he is not getting 50:50. He can have 30% otherwise we move up to middleweight for the bigger dogs line Canelo.

I respect you but I find this post disingenuous. Of course he fights for money that is what all professional fighters are supposed to do. What do you think Bud is fighting for? If Bud was fighting for Welterweight legacy why is he facing the jokers he is at 147 pounds.

A lot of this depends on your perspective. I didn't enjoy the mikey Garcia spectacle for instance, I don't think.he had any intention of doing other than surviving against the bigger and stronger man.

To be honest I think the other side of the street stuff is just code for letting the only other outstanding welterweight around age beyond the point where he's a threat. So eventually should they have the fight, the questions will remain even if Spence still has his o...

    Agreed

Buds problem is his promotional company

Spence doesn't have these issues so could lead the line

I don’t think you should be discrediting both guys. Granted Bud could have fought better competition at 147 but have no qualms at all about his opposition at Lightweight and Junior Welterweight in particular as well as the quality of his performances. As you nobody appreciates Erroll Spence Jr more than I do.

As someone who has been in the business trust me negotiations are not easy especially when you are not in the driving seat. The fights on the PBC side were easier to make all round but still have difficulties like Thurman not wanting to face Spence etc. Mickey Garcia is an outstanding fighter who came to win and create history. He was an undefeated fighter who did not know how to lose. What Spence did to him was shut him down and mastered him which was outstanding. He showed dimensions some people did not know he had.

Yes Top Rank’s promotion of Bud is the problem. They have no strategic plan in how to manage his career. Spence is doing his job facing top guys at Welterweight collecting all the belts and his numbers are great business wise. Bud will make treble the money he has ever made by accepting 30% for the Spence fight which he cannot dream of making anywhere else. I am going to leave you with the words of Floyd Mayweather and his experiences “ When I fought Arturo Gatti and Oscar de La Hoya I was the B side and they were the A side, when I beat Arturo Gatti and Oscar de La Hoya I became the A side” . He went on to generate over $1 Billion for himself. If Bud is confident he knows what to do.

Driving drunk is not "an unfortunate occurrence." It is immature illegal action.

Mikey is a blown up 135 pounder and Spence is a water deprived 154 pounder. No one who can spell boxing thought that Mikey had a chance to win that fight. "What Spence did" was prove he could not even knock down someone who was three weights smaller. That was hardly "outstanding."
