Much to early for Imam. They should keep bringing him along at a measured pace. He seems to be the goods, and have tremendous upside, but he wouldn't be ready for Crawford for probably four or five more fights. He shouldn't be put anywhere near Crawford for the next year and a half.
Crawford would outclass that kid. He's good, but it's way too early for him to be taking on someone like Crawford.
Crawford would probably KO him, I don't rate Imam all that highly, heck Maldonado was giving him problems and even knocked him down a couple of times.
Shiit! Imir is ready for Crawford right now. His natural talent is better than Crawford. Crawford's ability to fight right and left is better but that's about it. Imir has a better jab, better movement around the ring, fights off the ropes much better, attacks the body and head equally as well as Crawford. He doesn't get rattled and will man up in the center of the ring if that what needs to happen. His stamina is excellent and will carry him 12 rounds easily. He's edgy with a killer's instinct and will be Crawford's worst nightmare. Crawford had better hope Imir moves up to welter before it's time for them to do battle.
Imam's defense was better last night. He even laid on the ropes at times, and the guy couldn't touch him.
Imam has fought NOBODY. His best scalp is Fidel Maldonado Jr., who is a decent entertaining TV fighter but not by any means a world-beater. (ESPN2 main events are his firm ceiling). He's basically the 140lb Travis Walker - big power and shaky chin, a duelist specializing in shootouts - except actually less skilled than Freight Train. Yordenis Ugas is among the worst of the recent crop of touted Cuban amateurs who became disappointing flops upon defecting & turning pro. Walter Castillo also never fought anybody, his entire W column padded up in Nicaragua. Crawford would SMASH Imam.
