Tong Hui Li vs. Daniel Calzada, 6 rounds @ light middleweight

 

Round 1

李同輝 is throwing lumpy triple jabs down the middle and then hooking around the guard of Calzada. Looping rights on the body from 李同輝 as Calzada plods forward and tries hairline jabs ramped up from the chest. 李同輝 is circling in on Calzada, grabbing him by the shoulders to spin him off-center and teeing off with hooks with both hands.

Round 2

李同輝 is spirited in his attack, being first and utilizing the jab as he opens up on the outgunned Calzada, but his technique is a bit sloppy from bell to bell as he starts throwing before setting his feet and lets his jabs meander well outside the strike zone, delivered as mere preambles to his more earnest hooking combos which themselves are not executed masterfully or with much care for precision aforethought. Calzada for his part is just being tough, soaking up the glancing hooks bouncing off his skull and occasionally floating a high jab to set up a light straight right on the chest.

Round 3

李同輝 is throwing lead rights at his shorter opponent now while moving counterclockwise. 李同輝 is getting counter jabbed in the armpit by Calzada when he leaves the arm suspended in midair while taking his next lateral step, a lazy habit that has so far not bitten him in the ass with Calzada only daring to exploit the gap with jabs, unwilling to fully lift his defensive embargo and open up a free trading Silk Road of power shots. Calzada starting to clinch a bit more, grabbing at 李同輝's arms when they hang too long.

Round 4

李同輝 tags and hurts Calzada with a big roundhouse overhand right. Calzada hangs on, squatting and covering up, gloves tented overhead and chin buried to his chest. Defensive jabs put out by Calzada, rolling each hip inward to center-line to dig body combos on 李同輝, but not dissuading him. 李同輝 just keeps marching forward and lashing down across Calzada's mohawk with the heavy right descending from up by 李同輝's jaw. 李同輝 is flicking jabs up backhanded from the hip and drilling rights into Calzada's belt line.

After this will be Shakur Stevenson's sophomore effort, headlining the prelims on a separate stream from Top Rank Live. Then we go to HBO for the main doubleheader.

 

Round 5

李同輝 is dodging the desperate harpooning rights of Calzada, turning him and clapping down on his temples with the long clubbing overhand right. 李同輝 is using his arm length advantage, batting at Calzada from outside and then using the full torque of his bent arms suddenly coming snapped to full extension to push Calzada off when he sneaks in low hoping to whack the sides or clinch. 李同輝 meeting sterner opposition from Calzada now and taking a few more punches than in the previous four, but still a mismatch of physical specimens. 李同輝 quicker on the draw, stronger and harder punching, and better conditioned throwing quite a bit more and constantly pressing forward. Nosebleed on the brave yet nonplussed Calzada.

Round 6

Calzada has adopted the peekaboo in a crouch, and is shooting right hands up at the head of 李同輝, but missing as 李同輝 sees them coming a mile away, simply pivoting or casually sidestepping and punishing Calzada with towel-snapping rights from long range. 李同輝 is now changing directions frequently, spiraling outward around Top Rank's logo without ever setting foot on it, making Calzada march to him and into the path of long straights and hooks.
