    round 1 goes to crawford, controlling the pace and distance incredibly well, pot shottin with the jab slowly but surely making some openings. diaz pretty unsuccessful in bullrushing crawford at times, landed a decent left hook but nothing major

    They swap overhand lefts. Díaz connects first, and Crawford takes it with no ill effect, landing his own. Díaz falls, but ruled a slip. Crawford is pushing his jab past Díaz's left ear while Díaz is bobbing and diving his way in, putting up a high jab toward the bottom of Crawford's chin. Lateral movement at medium-close range and combinations from Crawford, punctuating with right upper-hooks, keeping Díaz on the defensive even as he stalks his way closer, just unable to get anything off. Díaz is jabbed in the mouth every time he attempts to get off first or breaks formation with his guard. Crawford watching his every move, waiting, and timing his jabs beautifully. Díaz, speaking of timing, is able to step inside on Crawford and catch him with a nice right hook. Crawford takes it and lands a couple more jabs while circling.
