Crawford by ko. Cotto had an iffy chin at 140 but seem to take a better punch when he moved up in weight.
That's very debatable, as Miguel is a first ballot HOFer however at the end of his JWW tenure, Cotto showed deficiency in chin (from melting to make weight) and did have some trouble with speed (again melting to make weight), but he still had/has one of the best jabs in this era, one of the best left hooks in this era and excellent footwork. I'd make it a 50/50 fight or give Cotto a slight edge as Crawford can get hit and Miguel pretty much hurt everyone he was in the ring with except Margarito, and that was at WW. There is not one person on Crawfords resume that is anywhere near as good as Cotto (even this old version). There are a number of of guys on Cotto's resume that I'd say are as good or better than Crawford, and that isn't a knock on Crawford but Cotto is one of the most vetted fighters of this era.
Crawford kills Cotto at 140. Cotto was at 140 getting rocked and dropped by Chop Chop and the Torres of the world.. At 147.. Once we see Crawford would be a much better debate
Not sure how Cotto is a first ballot HOF personally. I think he is worthy of HOF, but is on the lowest tier of HOF. I would've been strongly against him making HOF if he hadn't of IMO edged/had an even fight with Canelo.
Cotto is almost universally loved by most contemporary boxing writers. He's one of the top 3 most decorated champions from Puerto Rico, a four division titlist (I admit I have an asterisk beside the Martinez fight but still), has been ranked as high as number 1 or was "The" top guy at any given time in all of the divisions he competed in. He has a great case for HOF, He'll get in the first time he's eligible IMO,
