Margarito is just too big for Crawford too.
Crawford belongs in the 140lbs division.

Disagree. Shane gets beaten by master boxers, not the Mexican style he grew up facing a lot. Shane loved beating on those straight forward brawlers like Margarito.

Mosley vs Margarito was originally scheduled to take place in Vegas, but a few weeks before the fight a Federal Judge Susan Illston released Mosley's doping calendar, so Vegas was going to test Mosley for EPO before fighting Margarito.
That's why Mosley requested to have the fight moved to STAPLES CENTER in downtown LA, to avoid being tested, and Arum was in on the conspiracy, because he got a % of PPV revenue from subsequent Floyd vs Shane PPV fight.

That's why the California boxing commission allowed Margarito to "load" his wraps cause they knew Margarito was at a disadvantage with a "juiced-up" Mosley that night.

That fed judge had released Mosley's EPO juicing calendar in the past during the BALCO case:

Margarito has two lineal mw champs on his resume. Crawford went life and death with Ray Beltran. Of course Tony Margarito beats him.

Yall seem to forget that Crawford has just as much or more grit than Margo. He is as strong or stronger than Margo and he is a lot meaner and a lot more talented. He would beat Margo as long as Margo wanted to be beat on and enjoy it. He would beat him worse than Pac or Mosley beat him.

Margarito had trouble catching Cotto, and he doesn't even fight the way he fought against Margarito. He also had a ton of trouble with Santos.

Crawford's not a great, great fighter but he's too much for Margarito.

This. Margarito is being completely underestimated in this thread. Crawford has never fought anyone even half as durable as Margarito. Cotto can punch way harder than Crawford and couldn't put a dent in Margarito. Shane managed to stop Margarito, but also fought the fight of his life. Crawford doesn't have Shane's power or insane handspeed to keep Margarito from walking through him.

lol I was about to say that Crawford doesn't have his usual significant weight advantage in this one but then I just checked one of Margarito's welterweight fight night weights and he was 157 ie. what Crawford was coming in at down at light-welter 2 years ago. That said, Margarito is too tough and strong for him and the only chance Crawford would have is to put on his track shoes and backpedal around the ring at breakneck speeds in mortal fear of getting clipped by the wind of Margarito's punches.

I remember watching a completely PED free Sugar Shane almost spark Floyd out cold with a couple of innocuous love taps, whereas it took a Shane that was on more roids and PEDs than the winner's rostrum of Mr Olympia about 5000 flush roid bombs to put a dent in Margarito's titanium mandible and even the clean Shane hit harder than Crawford and would beat him, let alone the roid monster that fought Margarito. That was one of the most impressive displays of cheen I've ever witnessed and Crawford ain't got nothing in his arsenal to deter Margarito from rolling right over him like a truck. Margarito has stoppage wins over Sergio and Cotto, both of whom would paddle Crawford's ass something terrible. Crawford has been feasting on C level fighters (at best) whom he outweighs by a whole division.

I disagree with the idea that Shane outboxed Margarito. I believe Mosley won this fight easily because he chose to push Margarito backwards and make him fight off the back foot, which he was clearly incapable of doing.

In order to use Mosley as justification for why Crawford beats prime Margarito, we need to ask ourselves if Crawford can outmuscle Tony and make him fight going backwards. Without Mosley’s body attack, fast hands, and freakish physical strength (Mosley benches 315lbs for reps), I am not so sure Crawford can get the job done.

Prime Margarito, with Capetillo’s hand wrap method, is a problem for Crawford. Psychologically speaking, the questionable hand wraps method must surely help Margarito’s punch resistance when he truly believes that any punch he lands could be the one that changes the course of the fight. Of course, this assumes that Margarito ever used illegal hand wraps...

Lol stop it, Crawfor doesn't have the power Mosley had on top of that Mosley was physically bigger and stronger than Crawford not to mention Margo was mentally out in that fight...

I agree with your take on the aspect of punching power. However, in terms of size, Mosley and Crawford are both approx. 5'8" tall with 70" reach.

I didn't realize we were supposed to consider mental makeup heading into a bout. :) If that were the case, Shane was dealing with quite a bit before the Margarito fight with his marriage heading towards divorce.

At the end of the day, Crawdaddy would be punching Margarito in the face a lot and would eventually get a late stoppage or 9-3/8-4 type decision win.

All that needs to be said here. Hellacious boxing lesson from Crawford with love to Margo.
