Top Rank just signed Darányi - their scouts must see potential in the nineteen-year-old from Hungary.

 

Round 1

Darányi is jabbing, rolling his arms in front of himself, and throwing quick right uppercuts into the chest. Rodriquez is bouncing in place, letting his weight fall back and then forward onto his lead knee, crossing his arms over his face as Darányi pours on the power shots. The southpaw is nailed into the ropes by a right hand and Darányi continues to assail him with long straight punches. Rodriquez tumbles down while attempting to hurl both arms round Darányi, shoulder hitting the canvas, and is given no count. Less than a minute left. Darányi keeps hammering Rodriquez with hard right hands from outside. Rodriquez down again, but ruled a slip. Two no-calls there, both probably knockdowns.

Darányi is jabbing Rodriquez into the ropes and keeping his right glove oscillating by his cheek, ready to cover his own mouth in a hurry if necessary - but no offense is forthcoming as Rodriquez circles away, bouncing up and down. Darányi enjoys some target practice, casually jabbing out at Rodriquez, skipping back a step, and lining up a right uppercut on the body. Rodriquez is hurt and scampering and Darányi moves in with more power punches. Darányi is measured, patient, jabbing in on the shorter man. Rodriquez jumps in and clinches. Body chop by Darányi.
