Tommy Hearns is always my 147 measuring stick. When I’m weighting up a welterweight head to head I alway think, “Yeah but would they beat Tommy Hearns?” And the answer is usually no.
Really impressed with Bud so far but no way he beats Hearns.

People don't get it yet, do they?

That era of boxing was much tougher than today

Hearns would decapitate Bud and likely any other guy at 147 in recent times, bar Floyd who was good enough defensively to last 12

He was a monster, with arguably the greatest jab in the history of the division. Ray Leonard won their superfight, but I would favour Hearns the majority of the time to beat Ray. He did really win the rematch years later

P4p arguably the biggest freak in boxing history w

Agreed, but who does beat Tommy at 147? Ray did and proved his greatness, but I wouldn't pick him to win a rematch at 147 or any weight

Hearns only flaw was conditioning, but lets be honest he could KO Crawford.

The Hitman would hurt Crawford and stop him in a 12 or 15 rounder.

Look at what Hagler did to Hearns. Crawford is basically a WW version of Hearns

Hearns would beat him into a coma with his flickering jab alone. If the Hitman came with the right behind it Crawford would be knocked out cold. Similar to the Duran knockout.

Gamboa hurt Crawford at lightweight. Tommy takes his head off.

He is nothing to Hagler and he is not a member

Nobody at 147 could stand toe to toe with Tommy like Marvin

Do you think Bud could take the shots Hagler did in that first round? Also Hearns wouldn't fight little Crawford like that. He would pump the jab
