Larry Merchant talks like he's on the other end of a 900 phone line and he has to keep you on the line as long as possible to rack up your phone bill.

    Round 1

Determan is circling right and jabbing at Marquez, who is unafraid coming in with both hands clapping in palms-out. Marquez catches Determan on the face with a couple of his rapid cat-swipe combos. Determan blinks and backs straight up, showing a bit of amateurish instinct. Determan circles nearly into a corner, lining up a 1-2. Marquez keeps slapping at him. Determan lands a VICIOUS body shot and drops Marquez abruptly. 1-2-3 by Determan, finishing on the hip. Marquez is backed away with a jab. Flurry by Marquez as Determan runs in hitting the body.

    10-8 Determan

He spat out his gum shield in the corner. I can't remember seeing that.

Marquez comes out swinging. He's a stepping stone but the dude is all warrior.

Little mice live fast just a couple of years. Giant turtles live slowly more than a hundred years. How old is Larry Merchant?

    Round 2

Slight delay as Marquez gestures into his mouth. Apparently his gum shield wasn't properly reinserted during the break. Time in. Determan is throwing jabs up top and looking for rights on the body. Marquez waits his turn and pressures Determan into the ropes with a nonstop barrage of kitten-batting-a-ball combos and wipe-down rights. Determan just shells up and lets Marquez have offensive free reign for over a minute. Determan claps a right over Marquez's shoulder in the clinch and pushes out. Determan is looking tired. Marquez plants a jab on his nose, throws a right into his cheek and keeps pumping both arms while Determan backs into the ropes.

    10-9 Marquez

    19-18 Determan
