Bud represents the everyday joe, blue collar America. He doesn't need to flaunt or act like a black Liberace, he doesn't need to copy Floyd, Broner did that already, Bud needs to be Bud and let his fists do the talkin. That's all he needs to sell his ppv's, Top Rank handles the rest.
hes my favorite fighter when pac and Floyd retire! his fights are intriguing he willingly let rounds go but its like you know hes gonna win you just don't know how
:deal Crawford is a killer, he doesn't look remotely interested in outboxing opponents, he's looking to decapitate them from the get go. Its early days at 140, but he looked very sharp, and very heavy handed. He spent a few rounds sizing Dulorme up, then as soon as he opened up it was goodnight.
I disagree, Crawfords style is explosive and spectacular, he doesn't need any extras to sell seats and PPV. Big punchers earn big bucks.
I have no prob with Crawford .....but he's not going to a PPV star ...at least in my current estimation ......, is he better/more exciting than a mid 20 a floyd?
Crawford is beginning to be more comfortable in the limelight. If he can get past Lucas, he is well on his way to be a PPV star. Not on the scale of Manny and Mayweather but real decent numbers. He has a nemesis in Imir Imam who will meet him at the top to do battle for 140 supremacy. If Imir beats Broner and Peterson, the matchup hype will began and the fight will do big numbers.
I wasn't impressed last night and quite frankly I have never been massively impressed, he is very good yes but not great. Matthysse KO's him I reckon.
I felt he was losing last night until he got the KO and he was in with an opponent I wouldn't really rate very highly. Matthysse has only ever really lost once for me and that was when he got a terrible eye injury against Garcia.
Do you honestly think he was trying everything he could and was being out-boxed? He was measuring and timing Dulorme. Surely this isn't the first time you have seen a counter-puncher give up the first few rounds. And surely you noticed the way he jumped off his stool 20 seconds before the start of the sixth because he had decided that it was time for the fight to end. It's a risky tactic when moving up in weight when you can't be sure you have the power for a KO but he was never "losing". A fight lasts 12 rounds. If he hadn't got the KO he probably would have swept the last 7 rounds.
Lucas has a considerable speed and height disadvantage against Crawford and I just think that Crawford will be able to outbox him.
