I know. That’s why he should seek that fight. Easy, big money and gives Crawford exposure in the UK. It might even be a stadium fight.

I guess its my turn to mention Hamzah Sheeraz, I think he is mandatory for the WBC(?) now and I'd like to see it even if its just to see how Crawford deals with a taller and longer fighter.

But I don't see Crawford taking that fight, he seems to be following the school of fighting once a year for as much money as possible. And he is 38, he is probably thinking about calling it a day before a young gun gets lucky and takes his 0.

Agreed but this argument that Alvarez was too short for 175 is silly.

And? Quawi fought like 40 years ago. You literally had to go back 40 years to find someone short who fought at 175.

Exception does not prove the rule. If we still had day of weigh-ins, then I would sing a different tune.

Alvarez is literally shorter than all of the champions at: 175, 168, 160, 154, 147, and 140.
Only Tank is shorter than him at 135.

Alvarez would have to go down to 130 in order to be taller than the champions of a division.
And by the way, Tank is also 5´5, do you think he should fight at 175?

The light heavyweight division that Qawi fought in was a lot stronger than the division today. Alvarez’s height is not the reason he shouldn’t fight at 175. Did you have this opinion when he beat Kovalev?

Does Tank have the body/frame for 175 or win a title like Canelo did there? Did Tank move up like Canelo did over the span of 20 years? Boxing is about weight, not height.

Just because Alvarez can fight at the weight doesn't mean that he should. Hes clearly far smaller than those who currently occupy the division. And we have divisions for a reason.

When have you known for Crawford to seek out easy fights? Crawford has always pushed for the champions in the divisions he went to. Hime being the A side in any match up now til he is to retire, he's not going start looking for easy fights now.

And why would Eubanks or Benn be a big money fight? Neither of those fights are being demanded by the public beyond your post. Benn is a welterweight. He's only going up to 160 for the sake of the Eubanks rivalry. A match up with either fighter isn't going to give Crawford any more exposure to the UK than he already has. The fights wouldn't happen in the UK. Neither of them are A listers in the sport.

Those fights would be meaningless to Crawford long story short.

So why are there no 5´7 or 5´8 contenders at 175?

Neither are world class but in the UK either against Crawford brings a huge purse
    That's not meaningless

Saying that, I wouldn't want to see either fight Crawford but a casual audience would lap it up

Waiting for a time when super middle is not held hostage by an undisputed. Canelo fought ryder and dragged lower weights up... Hope crawford does better in that regard, but he is also at the tail end of his career and will chase the money.

Meanwhile everyone ahould avoid that weight as long as the belts don't call their mandatories... But at light heavy it's not any easier to score a belt. Great time to be lower or higher in weight than that...
