Terrance Crawford only won because he was a larger fighter tonight

It's a damn shame that Crawford won the biggest fight in his career and you sit there with your dumb brain and try to discredit him cause gamboa was inactivity and was smaller smh. Like I said gamboa was doing great earlier on which he was up by 4 rounds until Crawford caught him.

 

Gamboa was landing early and then Crawford adjusted, that's what good fighters do. I think Crawford is the goods but we will find out if I am wrong. Crawford won't duck anyone.

 

It was actually the first 4 rounds that made me realise Gamboa was going to lose. I was hoping that Gamboa would potentially have power but when I realised he didn't after the very good shots he landed, I knew it was only going to end badly for him.

 

So is the idea that Gamboa, because he is fast and strong, will beat everyone. There is more to winning a boxing match at the top level than just having fast hands.

He was getting caught and dropped even as he was outclassing guys at the lower weight classes.

His offense is superb, the rest of his game is not.

Lmfao @ this post. Gamboa took in complete control of the fight which it look like an inexperience fight in Crawford losing to a very experience amateur, pro fighter in gamboa until the 5th round which Crawford caught gamboa. What Crawford did that change the fight wasn't the size, he was countering gamboa when gamboa swings wild. Gamboa has known to do those many times but he never face a fighter with the skill of Crawford. Crawford countering and his defense later on along with his power won him the fight. He wasn't even using the size for advantage which is the funny part.

 

WTF is your point then? You made this thread stating Crawford won because he was much bigger. :blood

What did Gamboa weigh?
The thing is, even if Gamboa weighs quite a lot, he has a completely featherweight frame who has just bulked up. i.e a feather trying his hardest to be a lightweight - especially as an 'offensive, chin-in-the-air, my defense is my offence and I completely lack power at that weight no matter what shot I throw', type of fighter.

Maybe I missed something.

My original point was that, size advantage or not, the fighter has to do his thing. There are plenty of larger boxers who lose to a smaller fighter. Gamboa looked very good early on.

But much like other speed merchants, they tend to slow down as fights grind on. In Gamboa's case, he doesn't have the other facets in his game to make up for the decrease in speed. He also didn't fight smart, keep his guard up, make any in-fight adjustments, etc.

In the question of size, it is merely one factor in the fight.
