Every fighter has double standards when it comes to who they will fight at what weight, there is a gulf in class between Ward and Chavez Jr. As for Canelo, if you truly believe Golovkin is the reason that fight hasn't happened I will have to assume you are biased against him. The Brook fight wasn't ideal but it isn't unprecedented that a champion at 147 challenges the man at 160 and wasn't Brook a replacement for Eubank Jr. Golovkin has been an avoided fighter most of his career, just look at the purse split it took to get Jacobs to fight.

140 is a much weaker division than 160 is, also 147 has huge names with Giant paydays for Crawford in a division he can easily make. That's all I am saying.
160 has Jacobs, Lemieux, Charlo, Lee, now Canelo. Triple G stopped 23 consecutive opponents in a row most of the night decent fighters. That's almost impossible not to root for unless someone has some inherent bias against him.

 

I wasn't trying to say anything negative about Crawford if thats what you took from my post. I am a big admirer of Crawford just like any boxing fan would be.

GGG's resume is weak his first so called legit opponent was Jacbos a guy who no one here rated and was expected to get stopped in 5 rounds or less arguably beat him and touched him up. He could have already fought Canelo by now if he would have taken his offer of a catchweight. GGG's PPV numbers have been a cruel joke and he's in no position to dictate anything to Canelo who's the cash king of the sport. The guy simply never goes out of his way to make a big fight and at 35 with a resume like his that's not good. Hopefully by the end of this year he will fight Canelo.
