    Oh, thank God.

Sharps nonsense managed to muddy the waters enough to get some close cards out of it.

I’d like to see Maxi Hughes face Josh Padley or Sam Noakes next.

Hughes was initiating the action with smart, educated pressure (because of Sharp’s running), he was able to sneak into range and set up lefts down the middle, he was aggressive enough to be able to set Sharp up and get work off, not fall into his negative tactics, but wasn’t so aggressive that he smothered his work, using a variable and versatile lead hand to set Sharp up and put him in positions where he can take advantage.

Sharp however, was just running the entire time, throwing the odd 1 punch at a time and looking to do the bare minimum, landing nothing noteworthy whatsoever and didn’t seem to have the ringcraft or IQ to set Hughes up.

His only chance actually would’ve probably been to take it to Hughes, he had no chance trying to box him, it just gave Hughes room to poke, change level and set up that left down the middle and Sharp didn’t have the IQ to compete with him or to adjust to certain things, Hughes far too experienced in a boxing match, I still don’t think Sharp would’ve had much of chance if he fought him.

Sharp is exactly the best example of what happens when you keep your fighter fighting at a low level and don’t get him experience, before you know it, they’re 30 with no experience…
