Yeah Maloney went up in my estimation tonight, Ian John Lewis is a joke, how is he referee for the Hopkins Pascal fight??
Makes you think what Lewis's criteria is for scoring, direction of motion? cause Dallas wasn't dictating the tempo, Page was, and Page was also landing more consistently with the cleaner punches. Poor decision.
Lazy scoring for the home fighter being the aggressor IMHO. I'm always sceptical of the corruption accusations esp. after Maloney went on TV right after the fight and said Dallas lost.
These blatent one judge/ref robberies have to be stamped out period, it's got to be 3 judges, BBBc are no different to ****in FIFA. We all know that we must have some sort of magic eye on the goalines as much as we've got to have 3 judges & the glaring difference between the 2 is one is benign human error & the other IMHO is of a blatent promotional/hometown interest. Maloney is'nt going to pin a target on his back by saying his boy won, he's much to smart for that, just distance yerself from the decision & get a courier to drop the readies off under a paving slap outside that ***** lewis's front door.
Well I dont know, personally I didn't score it, but it seemed to me the fight might of been closer than it suggested.
I'm not sure British promotions can afford 3 judges and a ref for every 6/8 round fight. Its taken long enough to get to 3 judges for the "big" fights. Sorry, I just don't buy that. From Maloneys point of view its easier to say you thought your man edged it and then drop the readies off....
I agree with this it seems to me the ref is just lazily scoring it in a manner that favours the home fighter and barring multiple knockdowns the decision was a foregone conclusion before the fight started because the ref just has the mindset of give it to the home fighter.
Did the right man win? I know thats not the point on principle but thats always my first thought and main concern when the cards come in.
Sexton-Robinson? The referee's scoring was fair. http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=307716
Won and by fairly close to the right margin. 77-75 Sexton to my eyes, could see a point's difference in either direction. At worst a draw for Sexton.
